Overview
Miguel District is one of the four mainland districts of Hethereau in Neverness to Everness. Officially described as "a traveler's retreat, where the city's grandest natural beauty meets its tallest landmark," the district serves as Hethereau's premier scenic and recreational zone. It is home to the city's largest natural scenic belt and the iconic Hethereau Skytower, making it the ultimate weekend hotspot for locals and visitors alike.
Miguel District was first made explorable during the Containment Test beta (July 2 to 16, 2025), alongside New Herland District. The addition of these two districts expanded Hethereau's playable area to roughly 1.5 times its previous size, which had previously consisted of Bridge Crossing alone.

Key Landmarks
Miguel District contains three major landmarks that define its identity as Hethereau's scenic heart.
Hethereau Skytower
The Hethereau Skytower is the tallest landmark in the entire city. Visible from across Hethereau, the tower dominates Miguel District's skyline and serves as a navigational reference point for the surrounding area. Players can take a leisurely stroll under the tower, and its silhouette against the sky is one of the most recognizable sights in the game. The Skytower represents Miguel District's unique blend of natural scenery and architectural grandeur, standing tall above the surrounding greenery of the scenic belt.
Caltrop Lake
Caltrop Lake is a shimmering body of water surrounded by natural scenery in the heart of Miguel District. Players can glide across the lake using gliders or explore its shores on foot. The lake's reflective surface and surrounding vegetation make it a focal point of the district's scenic belt, providing a tranquil contrast to the more developed areas of the city. Caltrop Lake is one of the largest natural water features within Hethereau's urban boundaries.
Noetic Bridge
Noetic Bridge is a bustling shopping area and gathering point for visitors and locals. Despite its name suggesting a simple bridge structure, Noetic Bridge functions as a commercial district within Miguel District, offering retail and social spaces. Players can "dive headfirst into the bustling Noetic Bridge shopping scene," making it the district's main hub for commerce and foot traffic. Its position as a meeting point for travellers gives it a lively, social atmosphere distinct from the natural quiet of Caltrop Lake.
Natural Scenic Belt
Miguel District hosts Hethereau's largest natural scenic belt, a continuous stretch of parks, greenery, and natural terrain that runs through the district. This scenic belt is the defining geographic feature that sets Miguel District apart from Hethereau's other districts. While Bridge Crossing has the charm of its Old Town architecture and New Herland District is defined by its skyscrapers, Miguel District's identity is built around this green corridor.
The scenic belt provides a backdrop for both leisure activities and danger. Anomalies can appear anywhere in Hethereau, and the natural areas of Miguel District are no exception. The contrast between the district's peaceful scenery and the potential for supernatural disturbances creates a setting where players must stay alert even in seemingly relaxing environments.
Character and Atmosphere
Miguel District occupies a distinct niche among Hethereau's four districts. Where New Herland District represents corporate wealth and high-stakes ambition, and Bridge Crossing offers rustic Old Town charm with budget-friendly living, Miguel District provides scenery and recreational opportunities. It is the district most associated with tourism and weekend getaways, drawing Hethereau's residents out of their daily routines and into the natural landscape.
The district's more urban aesthetic, compared to the residential and historic feel of Bridge Crossing, gives it a polished, visitor-friendly character. Its parks and landmarks are maintained for public enjoyment, and the presence of Noetic Bridge as a shopping destination ensures that visitors have access to commercial amenities alongside the natural attractions.
Exploration
Players can explore Miguel District on foot, by vehicle, or by glider. The district's varied terrain, from the lakeside areas around Caltrop Lake to the elevated vantage points near the Hethereau Skytower, rewards aerial and vertical exploration. Public transportation routes connect Miguel District to the rest of Hethereau, including the Ghost Train system and bus lines that link the district to Bridge Crossing and other areas.
The district's open spaces and scenic viewpoints make it a natural location for drone photography and aerial exploration, which were introduced as exploration mechanics in the Co-Ex Test beta.
Development History
Miguel District was not part of the initial playable area in NTE's earliest test phases. It was added alongside New Herland District during the Containment Test (July 2 to 16, 2025), which was the game's first closed beta. Prior to this expansion, only Bridge Crossing was available for exploration. The addition of Miguel District and New Herland brought Hethereau's explorable area to roughly 1.5 times its previous size.
By the time of the Co-Ex Test (February 6 to 20, 2026), all four mainland districts, including Unheard Shores, were accessible, giving players the full Hethereau map to explore ahead of the April 29, 2026 launch.
Trivia
Miguel District is the only Hethereau district primarily defined by natural scenery rather than architectural or commercial identity.
The Hethereau Skytower is visible from other districts, serving as a city-wide landmark and navigational aid.
The district is officially described as "the perfect backdrop for leisure, or danger," reflecting NTE's design philosophy of placing anomaly threats in unexpected settings.
Noetic Bridge is named with the prefix "noetic," from the Greek noetikos meaning "of the mind" or "intellectual," an unusual name for a shopping area.
