Initial version
inZOI features seasonal events tied to real-world holidays and cultural celebrations. These limited-time events add themed activities, exclusive items, decorations, and special interactions that are only available during specific time windows. Since the game's Early Access launch in March 2025, KRAFTON has delivered three seasonal events: the Halloween celebration in October 2025, the Holiday Festival running from December 2025 through January 2026, and the Lunar New Year celebration in February 2026. Each event arrives as part of a major game update and typically includes both gameplay mechanics and cosmetic content.
The Halloween event launched as part of the v0.4.0 update on October 30, 2025. It was the first seasonal event in inZOI's history and transformed cities with autumn-themed activities spanning both daytime and nighttime gameplay.
A new pumpkin crop was added that players could grow on their farm plots or purchase from the Farming Supply Store and Pocket Market. Once harvested, pumpkins could be carved into jack-o'-lanterns at a crafting table. These carved pumpkins served a dual purpose: they could be worn as hat items on a Zoi's head or placed as home decorations. The update also introduced three new pumpkin-based recipes:
Pumpkin Soup: A warm seasonal dish cooked from harvested pumpkins.
Pumpkin Pie: A baked dessert requiring pumpkin and standard baking ingredients.
Pumpkin Candy: A sweet treat that could also be given to trick-or-treaters.
The trick-or-treat system centered around a new object called the Halloween Candy Basket. By placing this basket on their property, players attracted child Zois who would visit every night to ask for candy. The interaction worked as follows:
Place the Halloween Candy Basket somewhere on your property.
Each evening, child Zois from around the neighborhood arrive at your door.
Talk to the visiting children and give them candy.
In return, receive special Halloween-themed items as rewards.
The type of candy given influenced which gifts were received in return. Some rare candy types yielded particularly special gifts, encouraging players to experiment with different treats to collect the full set of Halloween rewards.
Five new ghost fish species were added to the game's fishing system. These spectral aquatic creatures appeared exclusively at night, glowing in the sea and lakes between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Ghost fish could be caught using standard fishing equipment and had multiple uses:
Displayed in aquariums as atmospheric home decorations
Sold for Meow currency
Collected for completion in the Family Collection Log
The event brought a substantial amount of new content to both character customization and building:
Character Items (available via Canvas/Palet): 4 outfit sets, 1 shoe pair, 1 sock pair, 2 hats, and 2 accessories
Building Items (earned in-game): 15 living room pieces, 39 common decorative items, and 4 outdoor additions, totaling 58 Halloween-themed building items
Additional Building Mode Content: The v0.4.0 update added 120 new building items overall, with 58 being Halloween-specific
Character items downloaded from Canvas required a game restart to appear in the Character Studio.
The Holiday Festival arrived with the v0.5.0 update on December 23, 2025, and ran as a limited-time event until midnight on January 31, 2026 (local time). The festival celebrated the winter holiday season with themed activities, booth vendors, gift boxes, and caroling across all three cities.
The festival set up in each city's main park, each with its own venue:
Festival activities were available daily from 12:15 PM to 10:00 PM in-game time. Choirs sang carols at each park, filling the cities with festive background music during the event hours.
Three types of vendor booths appeared at the festival locations:
Snack Booth: Sold winter-themed treats including candy canes, hot chocolate, and gingerbread cookies.
Gift Booth: Sold Holiday Festival Gift Boxes that contained up to 32 different limited-edition building items, including garland decorations and other festive furnishings.
Ingredients Booth: Sold up to 3 different crafting kits for making holiday cookies, including the Cookie Man Crafting Kit for baking gingerbread figures.
The Holiday Festival used a gift box system to distribute exclusive items:
Festival Starter Gift: When a player accepted the festival announcement text message on their Zoi's smartphone, 5 Holiday Festival Gift Boxes were delivered to their home. Opening these boxes could yield up to 19 different build items.
Special Midnight Gifts: One Holiday Festival Special Gift Box was delivered at midnight on the first and second nights of the festival. These special boxes contained up to 3 exclusive build items not found elsewhere.
Purchased Gift Boxes: Additional gift boxes could be bought at the Gift Booth, offering chances at the full 32-item collection.
The Lunar New Year celebration launched with the v0.6.0 mini update on February 12, 2026. This event focused on cultural traditions with themed cosmetics, building assets, and special interactions that honored the holiday.
The update added 19 new character items themed around Lunar New Year traditions:
2 new hairstyles
9 complete outfit sets inspired by traditional attire
4 shoes
4 hats
Equipping the traditional Lunar New Year outfits unlocked unique interactions that were only available while wearing them. These included:
Bowing animations: Traditional greeting gestures appropriate to the holiday
Fan interactions: Using decorative fans as part of social interactions
Traditional dances: New dance animations inspired by cultural celebrations
55 new Lunar New Year-themed Build Mode assets were added, enabling players to decorate their homes and neighborhoods with a traditional aesthetic. The asset breakdown included:
2 stairs, 1 pillar, 2 windows, 3 doors, 4 roof types
1 fence, 1 gate, 1 handrail
17 materials for surface customization
6 accessories, 4 furniture pieces, 2 cushions
1 wall decoration, 6 lighting options, 4 miscellaneous items
These traditional building assets were used to create a new vintage cafe at Ullim Temple in Dowon, which players could purchase and operate using the business system introduced in v0.5.0. A new Hanok-style property was also added at the Ullim Temple location.
To celebrate the Year of the Horse in the Lunar calendar, KRAFTON distributed a special Horse Mask accessory through the Brainstorm with Kjun event on inZOI's official Discord server. The Horse Mask came equipped with unique interactions, adding a playful element to the otherwise traditional celebration.
Seasonal events in inZOI are free for all Early Access owners and do not require additional purchases. Events are activated by logging into the game during the event period after applying the corresponding update. Some items from past events may remain available through the Canvas community platform even after an event officially ends, though the gameplay mechanics (like trick-or-treating or festival booths) are only active during their designated windows.
KRAFTON has indicated that seasonal events will continue throughout 2026 as part of their content update schedule, with the 2026 roadmap mentioning new events and memories systems planned for future quarters.
