who is Psycat?

Psycat is a lilac bi-colour Ragdoll cat who serves as the player's main supervisor at AR Company, the fictional organization that oversees Zois' lives. The name "Psycat" is a portmanteau of "psyche" (Ancient Greek for "soul") and "cat," which fits her role of watching over Zois' souls and karma. An earlier development name was "Psykhet."

Psycat was originally conceived as a deity during the game's earliest development but was later reimagined as a supervisor character. The developers joked about this change by calling her an "ex-god." Another AR Company employee named Cupid has an obvious crush on Psycat. This is a nod to Greek mythology, where Psyche was the goddess of the soul and Cupid represented physical love and desire.

in-game functions

Psycat appears throughout the game in several ways:

• In the opening cutscene, Psycat activates the elevator and brings the player to the AR Company office floor.

• Psycat's Guide is accessible via a book icon with a question mark. It provides tutorial information, in-game help, and access to cheat codes.

• During Live Mode, Psycat appears in the AR Talk chat window to offer contextual tips and guidance.

• Psycat's Guide contains the Emergency Rescue feature for stuck Zois.

• In Build Mode, Psycat appears through "Psycat's Help" to assist with building.
