PlayStation 5 Version
February 28, 2026 at 02:33 PM
Major expansion: corrected announcement to August 13 2025 press release (not Gamescom), added macOS version details, full PC system requirements table, Xbox under consideration status, Smart Zoi AI hardware considerations, Steam Deck unsupported status, controller support history, and PS5 mod support notes from 2026 roadmap.
Krafton announced the PlayStation 5 version of inZOI on August 13, 2025, via an official press release and social media post. The announcement confirmed a planned release in the first half of 2026. This will bring inZOI to consoles for the first time, expanding the life simulation beyond its PC (Windows) and macOS platforms. No specific release date has been announced as of February 2026.
The PS5 announcement was made through a standalone Krafton press release on August 13, 2025, approximately one week before Gamescom 2025 (August 20-24). The official inZOI social media account stated: "We're excited to announce that inZOI is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 (PS5) in 2026. Our team is working hard to bring you the best possible experience on PS5."
The timing coincided with other major inZOI news in August 2025, including the macOS launch (August 20) and the Island Getaway DLC reveal at Gamescom Opening Night Live (August 19). However, the PS5 announcement itself was a separate press release, not part of the Gamescom presentation. The Gamescom booth and Opening Night Live trailer focused on the Island Getaway DLC and the new Cahaya map.
The PlayStation 5 version is scheduled for the first half of 2026 (between January and June). Krafton stated that "the official release date and additional details will be shared at a later time." As of February 2026, no specific date has been revealed. Recent developer updates in early 2026 have focused on PC improvements (animation smoothing, bug fixes, Build Mode additions) and have not mentioned console progress.
Krafton has confirmed the following about the PS5 version:
The PS5 version will retain all of the key systems and features that define the PC experience
Controls will be reworked for console controls and performance to ensure a seamless gameplay experience
The game will be fully optimized for console
No details have been announced regarding DualSense haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, Activity Cards, cross-platform saves, cross-play with PC, performance targets (resolution or frame rate), PS5 exclusive content, pricing, or whether a physical disc edition will be available.
Controller support was not available at the PC Early Access launch on March 28, 2025. During a Discord AMA on February 28, 2025, the developers confirmed that controller support would be "worked on very soon after launch." Controller support was added to PC in v0.3.0 (August 2025), alongside the Island Getaway DLC. Community feedback noted that while functional, the controller implementation still had some rough edges compared to mouse and keyboard input. The PS5 version will build on this foundation with a fully reworked console-optimized control scheme.
On PC, the Smart Zoi AI system is powered by NVIDIA ACE technology and requires an NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU (minimum RTX 3060 with 8GB VRAM). This presents a technical question for PS5, which uses AMD hardware without NVIDIA Tensor Cores.
However, the macOS version demonstrates that Smart Zoi can run outside of NVIDIA hardware. On Mac, the AI features (Smart Zoi, 3D Printer, AI Texture, AI Motion) use Apple Core ML for on-device processing. This proves the feature is not permanently locked to NVIDIA GPUs. Whether Krafton will develop an equivalent solution for the PS5's AMD hardware (or potentially use cloud-based processing) has not been announced.
An Xbox Series X|S release is "under consideration, but not yet confirmed" according to the same August 2025 announcement. Krafton has not denied an Xbox version, but the focus is clearly on PS5 first. Multiple outlets have noted that PS5 may end up being a console exclusive, at least temporarily.

For comparison with the eventual PS5 version, here are the PC system requirements:
Tier | CPU | GPU | RAM | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Minimum | Intel i5-10400 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600 | RTX 2060 / RX 5600 XT (6GB) | 12 GB | 40 GB SSD |
Medium | Intel i7-11700 / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D | RTX 3060 / RX 6600 (8GB) | 16 GB | 50 GB SSD |
Recommended | Intel i7-12700K / AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | RTX 3070 / RX 6800 XT | 16 GB | 60 GB SSD |
High | Intel i7-14700K / AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D | RTX 4080 (16GB) / RX 7900 XTX | 32 GB | 75 GB SSD |
The PS5's hardware roughly sits between the Medium and Recommended PC tiers in GPU capability, with a CPU that meets minimum specifications. Community analysis has suggested the console version may target 30fps at reduced quality settings, though Krafton has not confirmed any performance targets. The "Fate Engine" optimization framework mentioned in the 2026 roadmap aims to reduce system requirements, which could benefit PS5 performance.
The Steam Deck's official status on Steam is "Unsupported." The developers have tested the game on Steam Deck and confirmed it can run, but performance is poor. There is no official Verified or Playable rating. Key issues include significant performance problems and heavy reliance on trackpad input. Controller support (added in v0.3.0) improved the experience somewhat, but Steam Deck HQ recommended players "skip inZOI on the Steam Deck" for now.
The 2026 roadmap mentions "PS5 and Mac mod support, though availability may be restricted or delayed depending on policy." This suggests Krafton intends to bring some level of mod support to PS5, but platform policy restrictions (Sony's requirements for user-generated content on PlayStation) may limit what is available compared to PC.
Several key details about the PS5 version have not been announced:
Specific release date (only "H1 2026" confirmed)
Price (PC and Mac both cost $39.99; PS5 price not announced)
Performance targets (resolution, frame rate, Quality vs Performance modes)
DualSense features (haptic feedback, adaptive triggers)
Cross-platform saves or cross-play
Smart Zoi availability (AI features require NVIDIA on PC, Core ML on Mac)
Physical disc edition (currently digital-only on all platforms)
PS5 Pro enhanced support
