Initial version
Meow is the in-game currency in inZOI. Everything costs Meow: furniture, clothing, vehicles, groceries, and utility bills. The name doubles as the term for Meow Coins earned through activities like bonding with animals.
Full-time jobs are the main income source. Pay varies by career and rank. The highest-paying career is the criminal path, topping out at 2,169 Meow per 9-hour shift at the Boss position. Lawyer is the most efficient job in terms of hourly rate: 2,040 Meow for a 6-hour shift (340 Meow/hour). Professor comes in at 320 Meow/hour.
Zois can sell things they create. Paintings and pruned bonsai plants go on the Pocket Market app on the smartphone. Digital creations like books, programs, videos, and music are sold directly from the computer by clicking "Can Sell." Physical items in the Zoi's inventory can be sold instantly by selecting them and choosing "Sell." Item quality (and therefore sale price) depends on the Zoi's skill level.
Each good-quality gardening harvest earns 500 Meow.
The money cheat in Psycat's Guide gives 100,000 Meow per use.
Bills arrive every Friday via the smartphone from the Tax Department. They include electricity, water, and property tax. Only adults living independently pay bills - parents cover their children's share. Players get a two-day deadline. If unpaid, a second notice arrives with penalties, and then both electricity and water stop working. Affected Zois get Unpleasant and Uncomfortable status effects.
When buying a house you can't afford, check "Receive a move-in assistance loan" to take a bank loan. Bank loans have low interest (around 1%) and predictable payment schedules.
The Loan app on the phone offers quick cash from loan sharks: 2,500 or 5,000 Meow at 5% interest. Missing payments triggers visits from debt collectors, and some household items get seized (unusable) until you pay.
