Drink Mixing in inZOI encompasses two related systems: the Coffee Craft skill and the drink mixer feature. Coffee Craft is a dedicated skill (levels 1–10) focused on brewing espresso-based drinks, lattes, and specialty coffees using a grinder and espresso machine. Drink mixing, introduced in the December 2025 update (v0.5.0), allows Zois to use blenders and mixers to concoct fruit juices and cocktails.
Together, these systems let Zois become complete at-home baristas and mixologists. Beverages can be consumed for need satisfaction and mood boosts, shared with friends and family, or sold through a business for profit. Combined with Baking and Cooking, drink skills enable the creation of fully stocked cafes and restaurants.
Coffee Craft is available to Zois from the Teenager life stage through Elder, making it one of the most widely accessible skills in the game. To begin brewing:
Purchase a Coffee Grinder and an Espresso Machine from the appliances section in Build Mode.
Place both appliances in your home. They can be on a counter or table.
Click on the Espresso Machine and select Make Coffee.
Choose a recipe from the available drink list. Locked recipes require a higher Coffee Craft level.
Important: Pod machines (single-serve coffee makers) allow Zois to make and drink coffee, but they do not raise the Coffee Craft skill. Only the Coffee Grinder and Espresso Machine combination contributes to skill progression.
Coffee Craft progresses from level 1 to level 10, with new recipes unlocking in batches at each level. There are over 30 drink recipes in total. Recipe costs range from 5 to 15 Meow per cup:

At Coffee Craft level 8, Zois unlock latte art drinks — the Heart Latte, Rosetta Latte, Cat Latte, and Swan Latte. These are among the most visually distinctive drinks in the game and represent mastery of the barista craft. Latte art drinks can be served in cafes for premium prices and make impressive gifts when shared with other Zois.
Drinking coffee provides several temporary benefits:
Energy boost — temporarily fights off exhaustion and extends how long a Zoi can stay productive
Task performance — a caffeinated Zoi completes certain career tasks and skill activities faster
Mood improvement — certain specialty drinks provide positive emotional effects
Note: Coffee expires like food. Do not let it sit out too long or it will spoil and become unusable.
The drink mixing feature, added in the December 2025 update, expands beverage crafting beyond coffee. Zois can use blenders and drink mixers to prepare a range of non-coffee beverages:
Fruit juices — freshly blended from ingredients. Available to all age groups.
Cocktails — colorful mixed drinks. Only available to Adult and older Zois (age-restricted).
Smoothies — blended drinks that can be customized based on available ingredients.
The types of drinks a Zoi can prepare depend on their age and the objects available in the home or business lot. A Drink Dispenser object was added in a subsequent January 2026 hotfix to further expand the drink preparation options.
Blender — used to make juices, smoothies, and some mixed drinks. Available in the appliances section of Build Mode.
Drink Mixer — used for cocktails and specialty mixed drinks. Can be placed on counters or bar tops.
Drink Dispenser — added in the January 2026 hotfix. A larger appliance for batch-preparing drinks, useful for business lots.
Coffee Craft and drink mixing are core components of the cafe business type. To set up a cafe:
Purchase a business lot through the Edit City window.
Register the business through the Business App on the smartphone.
Select the Cafe preset from the Business Type tab, which automatically configures customer activities for a coffee shop environment.
Place espresso machines, coffee grinders, blenders, and drink dispensers on the lot.
Set business hours and pricing through Business Settings.
Stock beverages by interacting with the coffee machines or blenders. Finished drinks are placed in dispensers or on counters for customers to purchase.
Cafes are among the most profitable business types in inZOI, especially when combined with Baking products. A cafe-bakery combination stocking high-quality coffee and pastries can net 4,000–5,000 Meow daily according to community reports. For maximum revenue:
Offer a variety of drinks at different price points to attract more customer types.
Level Coffee Craft to level 8 or higher to unlock premium latte art drinks that sell for more.
Stock both hot and iced versions of drinks — customers have preferences based on weather and season.
Add baked goods alongside coffee for a combined cafe-bakery that maximizes each customer visit.
Hire employees to keep the business running during off-hours or when the Zoi is at another career.
Coffee Craft is entirely separate from the Cooking skill. Preparing meals at the stove or refrigerator raises Cooking, while brewing coffee at the espresso machine raises Coffee Craft. The two skills do not overlap, and leveling one has no effect on the other. However, both contribute to a versatile food service business when combined with Baking.
You can only brew one cup at a time. To level up quickly, queue multiple brewing actions by clicking the machine repeatedly after each cup finishes.
Start with cheap recipes (Espresso, Cold Brew) to level up without spending too much Meow, then switch to premium recipes once your skill is high enough to justify the ingredient cost.
Place the Coffee Grinder directly next to the Espresso Machine to minimize travel time between grinding and brewing.
Use coffee strategically before work or skill sessions — the energy boost makes a noticeable difference in task completion speed.
Do not stockpile coffee. It spoils like food, so brew it fresh when needed rather than making a large batch in advance.
The Master Chef ambition benefits from having high food-related skills, including Coffee Craft. Developing this skill supports broader life goals.
For business lots, place multiple espresso machines to allow hired employees to brew alongside the player Zoi, keeping stock levels high during peak hours.
Level Coffee Craft to 8 as a priority — latte art drinks are the most valuable recipes and dramatically increase cafe revenue.
