Initial professions guide with all five careers, mentors, and progression system
Starsand Island has five professions. You are never locked into one. All five are available from the start and progress independently through a shared currency called Starsand Points. Each profession has a mentor NPC who teaches you through quests.
Completing any activity (harvesting crops, catching fish, crafting an item, breeding an animal, clearing a dungeon room) earns Starsand Points. You spend these points in the Workpedia app on your phone to unlock new skills and abilities for any profession.
Mentor: Graminova
Grow crops, manage fields, and produce food. See the full Farming guide for details on crops, seasons, greenhouses, and automation.
Farming is the steadiest income source. Crops grow fast, and the seasonal cycle keeps things interesting. Late-game automation via smart robots lets you maintain production without daily manual labor.
Mentor: Delphin
Fish the ocean and coastal areas. Fishing has its own skill tree with upgrades for accuracy, bait types, and rare fish detection. Delphin teaches you the mechanics through his questline.
Fish can be sold, cooked for stamina recovery meals, or gifted to NPCs. Some rare fish are found only in specific locations or during certain weather conditions.
Mentor: Zerine
Build items, furniture, vehicles, and structures. Crafting is straightforward: select what you want to make and adjust the quantity. Tools in this game never break, which is a deliberate design choice to eliminate tedious maintenance. You can craft better tool versions for improved efficiency, but the old ones still work.
Zerine's questline teaches the system and unlocks new crafting recipes.
Mentor: Pastelle
Raise and breed livestock. See Animals for details on pets, livestock, and tamed creatures. Pastelle teaches animal care, breeding mechanics, and resource harvesting.
Unlike farming, ranching cannot be automated. Animals need daily attention.
Mentor: Zephyria
Explore the Moonlit Forest, fight corrupted creatures, defeat bosses, and gather rare resources. This is the profession with the most direct action gameplay. Zephyria teaches combat mechanics and dungeon navigation.
Defeating bosses unlocks advanced profession upgrades. The best crafting materials come from the forest's mineral veins and artifact drops.
All five professions share one currency: Starsand Points. You earn them from any productive activity and spend them in the Workpedia app to unlock skills across all professions. This means a fisher earns points that can be spent on farming upgrades, and vice versa.
The system rewards doing a bit of everything. Players who dabble across professions accumulate points faster than those who grind a single path.
