Jixia Chapter 1: Dreamspring Plains (稷下第一章 梦启春溪原) is the first main story chapter of Honor of Kings: World after the Prologue. The chapter picks up once the Child of the Primal Flow has survived the calamity shown in the opening cinematic, and introduces the Dreamspring region that sits just beyond the Jixia Academy proper. It is the first extended hands-on section of the game, stitching together core combat training, the crafting system, and the first real boss fight.
The chapter is split into four quests: 初涉稷下 (Initial Entry to Jixia), 溯洄从之 (Following the Stream), 古丘城试炼 (Ancient Mound Trial), and 夜幕下的花火 (Fireworks Under Night). Finishing all four unlocks the Activity Center, Shop, Battle Pass, and Spirit Encounter systems, and gates further story progression behind reaching character level 11.
Dreamspring Plains is a gentle forested valley threaded by a clear stream, designed to introduce open world traversal without punishing new players. The chapter focuses on teaching three things at once: traversal tools such as climbing with F and the 渡石 (ferry stone) teleport network, the perfect dodge plus enhanced attack combat loop, and the split between your personal hero and summoned resonance heroes like Xi Shi. By the end of the chapter you will have unlocked her resonance and the Primordial Flow ability on your own protagonist.

The chapter runs in three areas: the open Dreamspring riverside, the Suhuai Camp (溯洄营地) research outpost, and the stepped approach to Gu Qiu City (古丘城) where the entrance exam is held. Your in-game guide for most of the chapter is Dongfang Yao, though large portions are spent walking the path with Xi Shi instead.
Meet up with Dongfang Yao and Xi Shi in Dreamspring Plains.
Activate the first ferry stone teleport point with Da Yan Xiao (大眼枭).
Unlock the Primordial Flow (原初之流) resonance by interacting with the Yun Gen stone.
Return to Suhuai Camp, learn crafting from Zhi Qing, and brew Bee Grass Powder (蜂草散).
Clear the Gu Qiu City trial waves and defeat the Yuange Puppet boss.
Attend the camp bonfire celebration to close out the chapter.
The chapter opens with a long cutscene that hands control back to you at a stream-side clearing. Run forward to meet Dongfang Yao and follow the small column of travelers. A scripted dialogue triggers when you get close to Xi Shi; she will take over as your path guide and lead you into the dense woods.
Near the end of the wooded path you find an owl-like companion called Da Yan Xiao (大眼枭), the game's first teleport keeper. Talking to him activates the nearest ferry stone and reveals the Dreamspring section of the open world map. This is the first true save and travel anchor, so it is worth walking to the marker even if the scripted prompt skips forward on its own.
A short distance later, a glowing rock formation called Yun Gen (云根) marks the first resonance unlock point. Interact with it to grant your protagonist the Primordial Flow (原初之流) ability, the core self-healing and damage amplification skill for the Child of the Primal Flow class. From here the game starts enemy encounters in earnest: a small group of mobs at a ruined shrine, then scattered patrols along the forest path.
Two side prompts surface during this leg. A Zhu Ji Tree (珠玑树) wishing stone sits just off the path and triggers a small story vignette when touched. Moments later you meet Li Yuan Fen (李元芬), a traveling scholar whose dialogue is short but forces a tutorial for the F key wall-climb. Use F on the ledge she points to and you will reach the top plateau where the quest ends.
The ruins fight is the game's first check that you understand the core combat loop. The dialogue explicitly walks you through the perfect dodge plus enhanced normal attack chain: dodge at the moment an enemy attack lands, then press the light attack button to trigger the enhanced follow-up. The V key is also introduced here as a way to ping the next objective so you do not have to hunt the compass.
Quest 2 sends you back upstream to Suhuai Camp (溯洄营地), the base of operations for the Jixia students outside the academy walls. Talk to Teacher Xing Mang (星芒老师) first; he hands you off to a camp quartermaster called Zhi Qing (芷青), who opens up the crafting system for the first time.
Zhi Qing tells you to gather some Bu Se Ru (布色茹) plants from the medicinal garden behind the camp. These are the blue-purple flowers with the harvest sparkle. Once you have enough, return to the crafting table to brew Bee Grass Powder (蜂草散), a basic healing consumable that the game expects you to carry into the upcoming boss fight. Brew multiple stacks while the table is open; the fight rewards sustain items heavily.
After crafting, the quest unlocks Xi Shi as a full resonance partner. You learn to switch between your own hero and Xi Shi with Tab, plus her signature grouping setup of E into Q that pulls nearby enemies into a pool and primes them for damage. A second ferry stone is installed at Spring Dim Water Pool (春幽水潭) at the edge of camp, giving you quick travel back here from Gu Qiu City later.
The third quest is the chapter's combat climax. Follow the quest marker up the stone stair path that leads to Gu Qiu City. The game places one more ferry stone right before the city gate so you can fast travel back in if you die during the trial.
The trial yard starts with two sets of waves made up of small Yuange Puppet (元歌傀儡) minions. The game very clearly wants you to use Xi Shi's E into Q combo here: group the puppets, then burn them with your own basic attack chain while they are stacked. Once the yard is clear, the trial's named miniboss drops in through the roof and the two-phase fight starts.
Phase one is a straight one versus one duel designed to teach the stun mechanic. The boss wears the moveset of the classic Yuange marionette, weaving short daggers with long puppet string attacks. Hit him with any ability that carries a stun component and he will collapse for a beat. Follow up with your enhanced normal attack chain to top the stun bar a second time; the second stun always forces a bonus hit window that carries most of your chunk damage.
Partway through phase one he will summon a ring of small puppets and retreat to the middle of the yard. Press Tab to switch to Xi Shi and use her grouping E plus Q again to clear the adds quickly. When the adds die the boss re-engages with a red-light telegraphed combo; the tutorial prompt here tells you to use your T ultimate to interrupt the wind-up. If you let it complete, the strike stuns you instead.
Phase two opens after the first health bar empties. The boss pulls himself up on puppet strings and starts a much wider set of attacks:
Phantom duplicates with their own independent attack timers. A perfect dodge on any of them lets you counter with an aerial enhanced attack that lands straight on the real body.
Rapid dive-slam sequences from the air. The second dive is often a red-light variant, so do not mash the dodge button after the first swoop; wait the half beat and dodge again.
A Xi Shi transformation phase, where the boss mimics her lotus orb pull and the lotus explosion. Stay outside of the pull radius or break it with a well timed perfect dodge.
Purple projectile barrages. These are clearly telegraphed with purple light, so side-step instead of rolling to save stamina.
An expanding purple carpet that fills most of the arena. The growth speed is slow, so sprint to the edge long before the explosion flash.
Another round of summoned puppets appears during phase two; resolve it the same way as phase one with Xi Shi's grouping combo. When the second health bar runs out, a cutscene closes the trial and carries you back toward camp.
Phase | Key Mechanic | Counter |
|---|---|---|
Phase 1 | Puppet string combos and red-light overhead | Stun with abilities, interrupt red-light with T ultimate, use Xi Shi E plus Q for adds |
Phase 2 Opening | Phantom duplicates and dive-slams | Perfect dodge into aerial enhanced attack; wait a half beat between dives |
Phase 2 Mid | Lotus orb pull and explosion in Xi Shi form | Stay outside pull radius or perfect dodge the orb |
Phase 2 Late | Purple carpet area denial and projectile barrage | Sprint to the edge; side-step purple projectiles instead of rolling |
The closing quest is entirely atmospheric. Fast travel back to Suhuai Camp and report to Teacher Xing Mang. The game hands you a camera prompt for a group photo with your classmates, then asks you to light the central bonfire. A short celebration cinematic plays as the camp toasts the end of the trial and the start of your enrollment at Jixia.
The moment the bonfire lights, Chapter 1 is marked complete and four end-of-chapter systems are flagged as unlocked in the menu.
Unlock | Source | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
Primordial Flow (原初之流) | Yun Gen interaction in Quest 1 | Core Child of the Primal Flow self-heal and damage amp |
Xi Shi Resonance | Post-crafting dialogue at Suhuai Camp | Group healing and enemy grouping support |
Ferry Stone Network | Da Yan Xiao, camp, and Gu Qiu stair stones | First fast travel grid, visible on the open world map |
Crafting Table | Zhi Qing at Suhuai Camp | Lets you brew Bee Grass Powder and later recipes |
Activity Center, Shop, Battle Pass, Spirit Encounter | Chapter-end bonfire | Daily tasks, gold store, seasonal rewards, and spirit summons |
Chapter 1 is scripted, so its rewards are delivered as system unlocks rather than loot drops. Finishing the chapter opens up the four mentioned services (Activity Center, Shop, Battle Pass, and Spirit Encounter), and the first free daily pull in the Shop becomes available as soon as the bonfire scene ends. The Battle Pass track unlocked here lets you begin working toward the Ganjiang Moye resonance for the ranged hero Jialuo (伽罗), which is the first long term goal presented to the player.
Experience from the Yuange Puppet trial typically takes players close to character level 10. The next main story chapter is gated at level 11, so expect to spend time on daily activities, side content around the camp, and the early Dreamweave Plains exploration loop before the story continues.
Stock up on Bee Grass Powder while Zhi Qing's crafting table is open. Harvest a full bag of Bu Se Ru from the medicinal garden and brew three or four stacks before leaving camp, since the boss fight rewards sustain heavily and the recipe stays useful through Chapter 2.
Tag your quest objective with V whenever the path branches. Dreamspring hides several treasure chests off the main route, and the V key distance readout is the fastest way to check whether a detour is still within range of the next beat.
During the Yuange Puppet boss fight, save your T ultimate for the red-light telegraph instead of burning it at the start. Phase one telegraphs very clearly and the ultimate cooldown is long enough that a mistimed cast leaves you exposed in phase two.
Use Tab to bounce between your own hero and Xi Shi rather than committing to just one. Xi Shi handles the puppet waves with E plus Q, while your protagonist puts out stronger single target damage on the boss body.
Do not skip the F key climb tutorial with Li Yuan Fen. The same climb prompt reappears in later chapters around collectible chests, and learning the stamina cost here saves falls later.
After the chapter ends, claim the free daily Shop pull and open the Battle Pass before logging out. Both reset on a timer, so starting them immediately locks in a day of progress.
