Overview
Jixia Academy is one of the premier institutions of learning in Primaera and the Flowborn's starting location. The official website describes its guiding principle as: "The truth is what you make of it."
Structure
The Academy is made up of three specialist schools for gifted individuals. Students study the nature and application of the Flow, the mystical energy that permeates Primaera. The surrounding landscape has a contemplative quality, with water features, mountains, and dense tree coverage creating a setting that VGC's preview described as having "Zen-like aesthetics."
Headmaster Fuzi
Fuzi is the headmaster of Jixia Academy and one of the most important characters in the game's lore. He is an ancient Enforcer, one of the enhanced humans created by the Gods, and was alive during the War of Gods thousands of years ago. He witnessed the conflict between Diqun and Nuwa firsthand. Fuzi now leads efforts to prevent the sealed Ark Core from being misused, though he keeps much of his knowledge from the Flowborn.
Role in the story
The game's main campaign begins at Jixia Academy, where the Flowborn enrolls as a student. Early story missions introduce the combat system, the Flow, and the broader mysteries of Primaera. The Academy also functions as a hub for crafting, merchants, and training facilities where players can practice techniques before heading into more dangerous areas.
Historical reference
The name refers to the historical Jixia Academy of ancient China's Qi state (4th-3rd century BCE), which was one of the earliest known centers of higher learning and hosted scholars from competing philosophical schools including Confucianism, Daoism, and Legalism.
