Meng Ya

Overview

Meng Ya (蒙犽) is a Resonance (共鸣) in Honor of Kings: World, confirmed in the S0 Season launch roster on April 10, 2026. He is a member of Jixia Academy and functions as a 强攻 (Offensive) Resonance whose kit revolves around switchable ammunition, a dual-resource system, and a summoned Wingman Response drone. His tagline is "用炮火轰碎所有束缚" ("Use cannon fire to shatter all constraints"), and his S0 tagline is "陈规不足畏，热血破万难" ("Old rules are nothing to fear; hot blood breaks through ten thousand difficulties").

Ammunition and Resource Loop

Meng Ya's signature mechanic in HoKW is an ammunition swap between two types that each feed a different resource gauge. Players weave between the two ammo types to maintain both resources and maximize burst damage windows.

Both ammunition types contribute to the Excitement resource, but only Rapid-Fire Rounds generate Heat. Players track both gauges to enter burst states when the resources peak.

The Wingman Response drone is Meng Ya's most distinctive HoKW kit addition and is NOT a MOBA carryover. It marks enemy body parts, which interacts with the body-part-targeting system common in HoKW boss fights, and fires on player command. The perfect-dodge counter fires a special grenade, adding a defensive-into-offensive loop that rewards mechanical timing.

Weapon Name Note

In the Honor of Kings MOBA, Meng Ya's signature weapon is named 浑天 (Huntian), translated into English as "Apocalyptor" by the Honor of Kings and various esports sites. However, 's HoKW skill text does NOT use either "Apocalyptor" or "浑天" as a proper name. In HoKW, the skill copy refers to the weapon functionally via the two ammunition types (速射弹 for rapid fire, 榴弹 for grenades) and does not give the weapon a proper name. The "Apocalyptor" naming should be treated as MOBA-carryover lore rather than a HoKW-specific skill label.

Combat Role

As an Offensive Resonance, Meng Ya provides sustained and burst ranged damage. He is one of two primary ranged options in the S0 launch roster (the other being Jialuo with her bow). The two differ in approach: Jialuo emphasizes precision bow shots with range-scaling mechanics, while Meng Ya focuses on area-of-effect firepower and resource-driven burst windows. Meng Ya's Wingman Response drone gives him additional utility in boss fights by marking and attacking specific body parts.

Playstyle Tips

• Alternate between Rapid-Fire Rounds and Grenades to maintain both resources; don't lock into one ammo type

• Use the Wingman Response drone to mark high-value body parts on large bosses; the drone's attacks synergize with your own fire

• Time Scorched Earth Barrage (焦土轰炸) for boss break windows or when the boss is stationary

• Perfect-dodge against enemy attacks to fire the special grenade counter

• Maintain medium-to-long range where your sustained fire is most effective
