Scavengers are flightless, ostrich-like predators that roam the Valley of Mines. Alkimia Interactive confirmed the remake's Scavenger design by releasing an in-game character render on Gothic's 20th anniversary, making Scavengers one of the earliest Colony creatures shown in remake form.
Territorial. Scavengers aggressively defend a patch of ground and often attack on sight if the Hero steps into their space.
Small-group wildlife. Encounters commonly involve two or three Scavengers at once.
Low-to-mid tier. They are a realistic target for an early-game Hero with basic weapon training.
Scavengers are a showcased enemy in the Nyras Prologue demo, where the rogue Drax gives Nyras a scavenger-hunting quest as an introduction to the remake's reworked melee pace.

Trait | Detail |
|---|---|
Tier | Low to mid. A realistic target for an early-game Hero with Beginner or Trained weapon training. |
Encounter Size | Small group. Two or three Scavengers patrolling shared territory is the typical encounter. |
Behaviour | Territorial. Scavengers attack on sight when the Hero crosses into their patrol arc rather than waiting to be provoked. |
Movement | Flightless and ostrich-like. Scavengers run quickly across open ground but cannot scale terrain. |
Scavengers roam the open stretches of the Valley of Mines outside the camp perimeters. They are not tied to any one camp and are a common encounter on the roads between the Old Camp, New Camp, and the Exchange Zone.

Alkimia Interactive published the remake's Scavenger design as an in-game character render for Gothic's 20th anniversary, making Scavengers one of the earliest Colony creatures shown in finished remake form. The design has been visible in subsequent trailers and in the Nyras Prologue Demo.
Scavengers are a showcased enemy in the Nyras Prologue. The Rogue Drax gives Nyras a scavenger-hunting quest as an introduction to the remake's reworked melee pace. The fight teaches the parry-and-riposte pattern in a forgiving setting before the Hero is asked to handle harder encounters.

Scavengers commit hard to bite charges, which makes them vulnerable to the parry window of the remake's combat system. A clean parry into a riposte is the recommended early-game answer. A bow is also viable for opening damage before they close the gap.
