The Halssius Conflux Statue Puzzle is one of the Ancient Ruins challenges in Crimson Desert. Located atop a hill at Halssius Conflux, the puzzle requires players to rotate a large stone sundial and align its symbols with the golden light projected by a central statue's spear. Solving it unlocks the Abyss Cresset teleport waypoint and awards an Abyss Artifact, which can be used to upgrade skills and later gear.
Detail | Information |
|---|---|
Location | Halssius Conflux, southeast of St. Halssius's House of Healing |
Region | |

Required Abilities | |
Difficulty | Easy to Moderate |
Reward | 1 Abyss Artifact + Abyss Cresset teleport waypoint |
You need two abilities to solve this puzzle, both of which are unlocked through main quest progression:
Nature's Grasp: Unlocked after the Reunion quest. This ability lets you lift and throw heavy objects. Used here to clear broken stone columns off the sundial platform.
Stab: A combat ability that lets you drive your sword into an object. Used here to pierce the central black post and rotate the sundial mechanism.
If you arrive at the ruins and cannot interact with anything, you likely need to progress further in the main story to unlock these abilities.
Action | PlayStation | Xbox | PC (Keyboard/Mouse) |
|---|---|---|---|
Triangle + Circle | Y + B | F + C | |
Stab (pierce the post) | RB + Triangle | RB + Y | Shift + Right Click |
Speed up rotation | X | A | X |
Pull out sword | Circle | B | C |
The puzzle has three main phases. In each phase, the central statue's spear shines golden light onto a tile on the ground, indicating which symbol the sundial needs to align with.
When you first approach the puzzle platform, you will see broken stone columns lying across the sundial, preventing it from rotating freely. These must be removed before you can begin.
Stand on the platform around the central statue.
Use Nature's Grasp to grab the first broken stone column.
Throw it off the platform by launching it outward, away from the dial.
Locate the second broken column nearby and repeat the process: grab it with Nature's Grasp and toss it clear of the platform.
Once both columns are removed, the dial should be free to rotate and some symbols will become visible on the outermost ring.
With the rubble cleared, the first phase of the actual puzzle begins.
Look at the central statue. Its spear shines golden light onto a specific tile on the ground. For the first alignment, it points toward the golden coin symbol.
Walk up to the black post attached to the central statue.
Use Stab to drive your sword into the post.
Rotate the dial to the left (when facing the puzzle from the front) to align the upper space of the dial with the golden coin tile.
You can press the speed-up button (X on PlayStation, A on Xbox, X on PC) to push faster. Stamina accelerates rotation; normal speed resumes when stamina is depleted.
Wait for the tile to glow, confirming the alignment is correct.
Press the pull-out button (Circle / B / C) to remove your sword from the post.
After the first alignment, the dial shifts and new symbols appear on the middle ring. The statue's spear now points to a new target.
Observe where the golden light from the statue's spear is now pointing. For the second alignment, the target is the scale symbol (a set of weighing scales).
Stab the central post again with your sword.
Rotate the dial to the right this time to align the upper space with the scale tile.
Wait for the confirming glow on the tile.
Pull out your sword.
The last phase activates the final section of the dial. The surrounding statues may also illuminate with golden light, pointing their spears at target symbols on the ground.
Scan the ground for the golden light direction. For the final alignment, the target is the horse icon.
Stab the post one more time.
Rotate the dial to the right to align the top space of the sundial with the horse icon.
Wait for the final confirming glow.
A panel on the main statue opens, revealing the Abyss Cresset.
Phase | Target Symbol | Rotation Direction | Ring |
|---|---|---|---|
1 | Golden Coin (embossed head) | Left | Outer ring |
2 | Scale (weighing scales) | Right | Middle ring |
3 | Horse | Right | Final section |
1 Abyss Artifact: A powerful upgrade resource used to enhance skills and, later in the game, equipment at a Blacksmith. Collecting these early gives a significant advantage in combat progression.
Abyss Cresset of Halssius Conflux: Unlocked as a permanent teleport waypoint on your world map. This makes fast-traveling to the eastern Hernand region much more convenient for future exploration and quests.
Dial will not rotate: Make sure you have cleared both broken stone columns with Nature's Grasp. Even a single remaining column prevents the mechanism from moving.
Cannot stab the post: You need the Stab ability, which is unlocked through main quest progression. If the prompt does not appear, continue the main story.
Lost track of which symbol to match: Walk around the entire circle and look for the golden light shining from each statue's spear onto the ground tiles. The illuminated tile is always your target.
Rotation seems stuck or slow: Press the speed-up button to spend stamina and rotate faster. If stamina is depleted, the rotation continues at normal speed. Be patient and hold the direction.
Symbols do not glow after rotating: You may have overshot the alignment. Try rotating slightly in the opposite direction to fine-tune the position. The tile glows only when the alignment is exact.
Solve this puzzle early in your playthrough. The Abyss Artifact reward provides a skill point that compounds in value the earlier it is used.
If you are visiting the House of Healing for the Familiar Curses questline, take a short detour southeast to complete this puzzle while you are nearby.
After unlocking the Abyss Cresset teleport, this location serves as a convenient fast-travel hub for exploring the eastern half of Hernand.
The illuminated statues change between rounds. After each correct alignment, walk around the dial to check which statues are now lit before stabbing the post again.
This is one of several Ancient Ruins puzzles scattered across the world. Each one follows a similar pattern of environmental manipulation followed by symbol alignment, but with variations in the specific mechanics.
