The Frostcursed Plate Helm is a piece of Plate Armor headgear in Crimson Desert. It belongs to the Frost Cursed Plate armor set and is the only piece in that set classified as Abyss Gear. Found inside a treasure chest at Chattering Rocks in northern Demeniss, the Helm provides Daze Immunity and passive health regeneration, making it a strong defensive pickup for any build.
Unlike most other pieces in the Frostcursed Plate set, the Helm is not classified as a Unique item. It comes pre-refined at Refinement Level 3 and can be upgraded further at any Blacksmith. It also has one Abyss Core slot, giving it more customization potential than the rest of the set.

The table below lists the base stats for the Frostcursed Plate Helm at its starting Refinement Level 3. These values increase with further refinement at a Blacksmith.
Stat | Value |
|---|---|
Type | Plate Helm (Headgear) |
ATK | 0 |
DEF | 5 |
ATK SPD | 0 |
MV SPD | 0 |
CRIT | 0 |
LGT RES | 0 |
ICE RES | 0 |
FIRE RES | 0 |
Refinement Level | 3 (upgradeable) |
Abyss Core Slots | 1 |
Sell Price | 5.08 Silver Coins |
With 5 DEF and no offensive stats, the Helm is a purely defensive piece. Its real value comes from its special effects and its Abyss Core slot rather than raw numbers.
Effect | Description |
|---|---|
Daze Immunity | Prevents the Daze status effect from interrupting the wearer's actions |
Health +0.2 every 1 sec | Passively restores 0.2 HP per second during exploration and combat |
Daze Immunity is the standout effect here. Daze is a crowd-control status that several enemies in Demeniss and northern regions inflict, temporarily locking the player out of all actions. With the Frostcursed Plate Helm equipped, those attacks still deal damage but cannot stun or interrupt combos. This is particularly useful against rock monsters near Chattering Rocks and frost elementals in the Eye of Ice area.
The passive health regeneration of +0.2 HP per second is modest on its own, but it stacks with other healing sources. Over the course of a long exploration session in cold environments, it adds up to meaningful sustain, especially when combined with food buffs or the Frozen Anguish sword's Stamina Transference effect.
The Frostcursed Plate Helm is classified as Abyss Gear and comes with one empty Abyss Core slot. This makes it the only piece in the Frostcursed Plate set that supports Abyss Cores. You can socket any compatible Abyss Core into the slot at a witch NPC to add an additional passive effect.
Good core choices for the Helm include:
Ice-themed cores: Frost resistance or ice damage cores pair well with the set's frost theme and help when exploring the Eye of Ice or the Spire of Frost.
Health or defense cores: Stacking more survivability on top of the Helm's passive HP regen turns it into a strong defensive anchor.
Spirit regeneration cores: If you use the Frozen Anguish and rely on skill-heavy combat, Spirit regen helps maintain uptime between ability uses.
Additional Abyss Core sockets can be added through the Create Socket function, though this consumes crafting materials.
The Frostcursed Plate Helm is found at Chattering Rocks, an ancient ruin in northern Demeniss. The site is east of the Sanctum of Expiation, roughly above the letter "D" in "Demeniss" on the world map.
Since the Sanctum of Expiation (where the Frostcursed Plate Cloak is found) and Chattering Rocks are very close to each other, players should plan to collect both pieces in the same trip. The Helm location is a short walk east from the Sanctum, making these two pieces the most convenient to grab back-to-back.
Travel to the Chattering Rocks area in northern Demeniss. If you have already visited the Sanctum of Expiation, head east from there.
Look for a stone structure with a ladder on its exterior. Climb up and walk around the building.
Around the corner you will find a wall covered in green vines. Use Blinding Flash (L1+R1+L1 on PlayStation, LB+RB+LB on Xbox) to burn the vines away, revealing a hidden room.
Enter the hidden room and open the treasure chest to obtain the Frostcursed Plate Helm.
Be aware that rock monsters patrol the Chattering Rocks area. They hit hard but can be sprinted past. Combat is not required to reach the chest.
Skill | Input | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
L1+R1+L1 (PS) / LB+RB+LB (Xbox) | Burns away the vine-covered wall blocking the hidden room |
The Frostcursed Plate Helm starts at Refinement Level 3 and can be upgraded further at any Blacksmith. Each refinement level increases the base DEF stat. Refinement requires ore-based materials such as Iron Ore, Copper Ore, and Silver Ore, which can be mined from deposits across Demeniss or purchased from material merchants.
Since the Helm is one of only three refinable pieces in the Frostcursed Plate set (along with the Frostcursed Plate Gloves and Frostcursed Plate Boots), investing refinement materials into it yields solid returns. The Helm's Abyss Core slot also makes it the best long-term investment piece in the set.
Daze Immunity is especially useful in the Eye of Ice and northern Demeniss where multiple enemy types rely on stun attacks. Wearing the Helm lets you trade hits without losing combo momentum.
The passive HP regen works during combat and exploration. In cold zones where blizzards slowly drain health, the +0.2 HP/sec partially offsets the environmental damage.
Pair the Helm with the rest of the Frost Cursed Plate set for maximum ice resistance. The combined set lets you explore even the coldest areas of Demeniss without taking frost damage.
If you are running a two-handed sword build with the Frozen Anguish, the Helm's health regen stacks with the sword's Stamina Transference for good sustain during drawn-out boss fights.

The helm is in the Chattering Rocks ruin field. Start from the same fast travel point used for the Frostcursed Plate Cloak pickup at the Sanctum of Exploration, then ride southeast along the road toward the Chattering Rocks marker.
Fast travel back to the Gate of Truth marker after the cloak chest seals you in.
Mount your horse and follow the road south. You will pass debris and large ruined structures along the way (visually similar to the protector statues from Zelda games).
Veer right past a small cabin and a bonfire. In the background you should see a massive ruin with sharp spiked rocks rising out of the ground. That is Chattering Rocks.
Loop down through the ruins. There is a big stone archway at the entrance; ride past it.
Just around the corner from the archway is a small chamber with red glowing vines blocking the doorway.
The vines are the only obstacle. Use Blinding Flash (L1 plus R1) and then hold L1 to channel a fire beam into the vines. A fire imbued melee attack or an explosive arrow also works.
Important: wait for the vines to fully burn away before walking through the doorway. Trying to push through too early triggers a damage tick and blocks the path until the burn finishes.

Unlike the chest armor, the helm can be upgraded, so it remains useful into the late game.
