Press R1 + Circle to strike while dodging backward. Damiane delivers an offensive swing while simultaneously creating distance from the enemy.
Combat Tips
Evasive Smite is a safe offensive option that keeps Damiane out of counterattack range. Use it as a combo finisher when you want to disengage after a string of melee hits. It works well against aggressive enemies that punish players for staying in close range too long.

Retreat Combo
Evasive Smite fires off a swing while Damiane hops backward, combining damage output with disengage in a single input. The move has startup on the strike followed by the dodge, so the Stamina cost (40) is higher than a pure dodge would be, but in return the enemy cannot punish the dodge with a follow-up.
Use Evasive Smite as a combo closer when an enemy is about to react. Finish a Sword Flurry or Smiting Strike string and immediately tap R1 + Circle; Damiane will land a final slash while creating distance for the next opening.
