Field Boss Quick Guides
October 25, 2026 at 04:06 AM
Add source-specific field-boss attack cues and an Eternal Isle approach landmark while preserving the roster, schedules, rewards and existing advice.
Field boss attacks can continue after the first dodge with another blast, a delayed ring or a lingering hazard. Use these cues to find safe ground before returning to attack.
These notes cover Verteron and Altgard. The regional copies of Silent Dartan, Soul Ruler Kashapa and High Commander Lagta have separate locations, as do Eternal and Immortal Gartua. For the roster, map features and schedule context, see Field Bosses. Abyss Bosses has the Abyss encounters. Eltnen and Morheim coverage is still being added.
The tank should face frontal attacks away from the group when practical. Damage dealers can use a flank or rear while the boss commits to that attack. Reposition when it turns or starts a surrounding blast.
Example: tank in front, boss in the middle, damage dealers behind or beside it, healer on a clear flank. The group avoids a fan aimed at the tank. A circular blast makes every role leave its radius.
Damage dealers should destroy healing and support totems. Healers should keep allies within reach while preserving a clear movement route, then restore health from safe ground. Do not stop to heal inside poison, traps or an incoming marker.
Treat a dodge as movement to a checked destination. Look for lingering tornadoes, rotating walls and old poison pools before choosing that destination. These role assignments are tactical recommendations from the attack patterns; they are not fixed class requirements. Combat and Skill Chains explains the wider combat system.
Find the encounter by its landmark, then watch its next move. A rear opening ends when the boss turns or attacks all around itself.
Boss | Where to look | Cue and response |
|---|---|---|
Black Tentacle Lawa | Altamia Canyon, pond southwest of Ancient Zumion Temple Site Kibelisk | Step across the segmented line before its explosions advance. Keep running from falling circles and the tracking orb; a dash leaves another orb behind. |
Bloodfang Pnyn | Northern Tolbas Forest, southeast of Southern Shugo Station | Close targets face a claw swipe, while distant targets can draw a lunge. Watch its facing whenever the target changes distance. Falling fireballs mark multiple circles. The radial line strikes release in indicator order, so watch which line is next. |
Blooming Korin | Ellun River Midstream | A charged stomp threatens nearby players. Leave your marked position for the ranged circle, and keep clear of the three forward arrows. |
Bodyguard Teegant | Destroyed Abyss Gate, pond southeast of Verteron Fortress Valley Kibelisk | Both the arrow volley and charged fan threaten the front. Move behind Teegant during the fan windup, then attack from there. |
Centurion Demiros | Destroyed Temple Site, beside Targoth's Cave | Two sweeps can lead into an upward strike and intersecting arrows. Keep moving after the close hit rather than returning to the previous target position. |
Chaser Taulo | Forest of Exiles, platform west of Abandoned Wind Breeze Office | Avoid lingering tornadoes while watching the mace landing. A backflip signals a forward thrust, so clear its landing and front before committing to an attack. |
Divine Ansas | Contaminated Sanctum, beside Altar of Hope | Four blue circles leave hazardous ground after impact. Dodge onto clean terrain, avoid traps, and keep the forward beam directed away from other players. |
Eternal Gartua | Center of Eternal Isle | Expect two pulses. Avoid the targeted laser and both arm lines; leave the portal after a fist impact, and track tornadoes before the teleport. |
Forest Warrior Aullamu | Aullaeu Village, northwest of village valley Kibelisk | Destroy the silver totem with the purple stone to interrupt healing. Basic strikes can precede a heavier hit; also clear the jumping slam and forward jab. |
Furious Saursus | Night Dew Cave, open fields | Move sideways from the rolling charge, then leave the surrounding roar. The overhead strike has two further swipes; attack after the full sequence finishes. |
Harvest Manager Moshav | Drana Processing Area, west of Scarlet Forest Observation Site | Avoid the lightning thrust and broad sweep. After the ground impact, keep away from the delayed poison mark instead of treating the landing as immediately safe. |
Heretic Layla | Rock Tomb Hill, south of Rock Hill Outpost | Cross-shaped waves and a surrounding burst require different routes. Watch moving tornadoes and both ground traps before choosing where to dodge next. |
High Commander Lagta (Verteron) | Drana Plantation, northwest of Laborer's Rest Stop | The double sweep can gain a heavier follow-up. Cross beyond the fan edge; retreating along its length can leave you inside the attack. Keep dodging through the horizontal, vertical and V-shaped combo, and avoid the blue crystals thrown at the ground. |
Kernon of the West | Western Cantas Valley hills | Remove the Healing Totem early. Leave the charged circular slam, then use its recovery to attack; the ordinary horn strike mainly threatens the front. |
Kusan the Mad Gladiator | Verteron Fortress Ruins, north of Collapsed Pillar Kibelisk | Four slams change direction, so follow each turn instead of trusting one rear position. Watch for falling fire after the fourth impact. |
Neikel of the East | Eastern Cantas Valley, south of Mushroom Tree Peak Kibelisk | Its pursuit brings headbutts into close range. When ranged circles mark the ground, move before the delayed impact and choose a clear landing spot. |
Phantasm Kasia | Garden of the Illusion God, northwest of west observatory | The second bolt arrives late. An airborne three-bolt sequence finishes with a larger impact, so stay mobile until that final attack has landed. |
Researcher Setram | Central Nahid Brigade Fortress | The straight sword thrust has a brief preparation. Move to the side, avoid the orb impact in front, and attack during the resulting recovery. Lure Setram away from the Recovery Totem, keeping the route clear of nearby enemies. |
Ritualist Garshim | Verteron Fortress Ruins, open field | Keep track of the blue tornadoes between attacks. Once outside the three-hit frontal sequence, the rear offers an opening while Garshim finishes the animation. Its surrounding ground slam also reaches the rear; leave close range and return after the impact. |
Rotten Kutar | Ellun River Marsh, below cliff Kibelisk | Destroy Recovery Totems. Its punching flurry holds one direction, but Kutar turns toward the nearest player afterwards; be ready to reposition before the next attack. When Kutar leaps at a player, dodge the landing slam. |
Scholar Aulla | Aullaeu Village, north of Abandoned Wind Breeze Office | Clear summoned Aullaeu Totems. Marked circles and lingering purple areas can overlap, so move toward unused ground rather than dodging into an earlier hazard. |
Sentinel K'nash | Drana Processing Area, north of Drana Transport Hub | The charged explosion strikes twice. Wait outside for both blasts, then check the rotating prism wheels before returning around the claw sweep and jumping slam. Rain of Fire can lead straight into the double explosion. |
Silent Dartan (Verteron) | Southern Altamia Highland, east of Aullaeu Village Valley | Keep moving through repeated rain waves. Sidestep the beam, avoid marked landings, and create distance when Dartan charges the black sphere. The staff sweep hits twice. |
Soul Ruler Kashapa (Verteron) | Eastern Altamia Highland fields | Leave the inner impact, then move inward before the outer ring lands. Watch the actual whirling blades as well as the ground; those blades lack floor warnings. Dark rain can scatter orbs while other attacks continue; keep a clear space for your next move. |
Shared-name variants have separate entries. Check for old hazards before following a boss across the arena.
Boss | Where to look | Cue and response |
|---|---|---|
Addicted Hardirun | Northern Fafnite Deposit encampment | A rock throw has a visible windup. When the hammer begins its nearby whirlwind, leave melee range rather than trying to remain behind it. |
Advisor Resana | Dranactus, open field | A split blade signals a broad cleave; a raised unsplit blade precedes a rushing strike. Dodge the committed attack, then use the rear opening. A diagonal dodge toward Resana can clear the vertical lightning strike. Also keep clear of the fireballs during Fire Rain. |
Berserker Vargor | Sanctum Outpost, southwest of Temporary Retreat | The forward slash reaches beyond immediate melee distance. Clear the cone flurry and targeted jumping slash, then return from behind during recovery. |
Black Warrior Aed | Nameless Cemetery, east of Neglected Crematorium | Move the fight away from runes before they activate. Hammer and shield attacks continue while runes remain; resisting a stun does not make the marked ground harmless. |
Blood Warrior Lannar | Moslan Forest, south of Dry Shade Kibelisk | A sword sweep leads into an overhead axe strike. Stay clear through both, watch the separate circular slam, and sidestep the charge marked by a line. |
Blue Wave Kelpina | Purifying Forest, lake north of Healing Spring | Avoid the head bash and three forward waves. Rearing up warns of a surrounding slam, which reaches behind Kelpina as well as in front. |
Dark Shadow Vishwada | Lagta Fortress, room beside blue-orb pillar | Do not stand behind another player along the beam path. Dodge sideways into a space free of rotating purple traps while the projectile continues tracking. |
Deceiver Trid | Uruthumheim, east of Victorious Daeva's Statue | Leave the front during the large charged blast. The ranged pattern fires three successive bolts, so a successful first dodge is not the end of the sequence. |
Desecrator Newbold | Legion Base Ruins, northeast of Fissure Cave | The melee sweep can leave poison behind. Place your next dodge on clean ground and leave targeted poison circles promptly rather than recovering inside them. |
Drakan Battalion Weapon Guruta | Eastern Gribade Highland, southeast of Steel Hammer trading post | Avoid triggered traps. Its nearby hit can be followed by an outer ring, so identify which area will be struck next before moving back. |
Executioner Barthien | Western Gribade Highlands, west of Idun's Lake | Keep a dodge available for the heavy ranged strike. Continue moving through all four purple impacts and avoid poison appearing beneath the current target. |
Faithful Rajit | Sanctum Outpost, northwest of Temporary Retreat | The drawn-back glowing arm warns of a flying forward slash. Moving behind helps against the thrust, but the circular roar requires leaving close range. |
High Commander Lagta (Altgard) | Lagta Fortress, large dark room | Handle the double sweep and heavier follow-up together. Leave the fan sideways and keep watching through the horizontal, vertical and V-shaped portions of the combo. Dodge the blue crystals thrown toward the ground. |
High Overseer Nutah | Dranactus, west of Battlescar Mound Clifftop | A circular sweep continues into a jumping slam. Wait for the landing before returning, and clear the short line extending from the flipping slam. |
Immortal Gartua | Center of Immortal Isle | Avoid both pulses, the laser and the paired arm lines. A fist-created portal attacks later; moving tornadoes remain relevant as Gartua prepares to teleport. |
Melted Danar | Dredgion Crash Site, northeast of Creion Campsite | Dodge the jumping impact and find the rotating pink wall it leaves. Wait for a clear approach instead of immediately crossing the wall to resume attacking. |
Predator Garsan | Moslan Forest, south of Forest Hideout and Krao Cave | Sidestep the straight rolling tackle. A short lunge can lead into a broad roar, so create distance after the lunge instead of circling closely behind. |
Sharp Shylak | Impetusium Square, east of Outskirts Stall | Distinguish the frontal half-circle from the full spin. The rear works against the first; leave the radius for the second and move out of falling circles. |
Soul Ruler Kashapa (Altgard) | Fafnite Deposit, southwest of Amunta's Hideout | Move out for the inner strike and back inside for the delayed ring. Use gaps between straight scythes while monitoring persistent blades without floor markers. Dark rain can scatter orbs while other attacks continue; keep a clear space for your next move. |
Special Operations Leader Linx | Basfelt Ruins, open field | An axe impact can produce a rotating wall, which can also appear separately. Keep its route clear and move sideways from the travelling ground fissure. |
Specter Archon Axios | Basfelt Ruins, north of cliff Kibelisk | The overhead halberd attack extends along a line. A dragged crescent repeats after a pause, so wait for the second pass before returning. |
Veteran Shujakan | Western Black Claw Village, near large totem | Both the ordinary frontal pattern and the charged version contain two slashes. Stay outside the front until the second hit has finished. |
Visionary Karuka | Black Claw Village, west of Kumrica's Cellar | Destroy the healing totem. Expect a beam after two shots; keep moving through three targeted impacts, and use visible gaps in the circular attack. If no Recovery Totem appears, watch for moving whirlwinds instead. |
Silent Dartan (Altgard) | Basfelt Ruins, northwest of Graverobber Campsite | Keep clear through following rain waves and both staff sweeps. Avoid marked landings, sidestep the beam, and retreat from the black-sphere charge. |
Return after the complete sequence, not after an arbitrary pause. Kusan can follow four slams with fire; Sentinel K'nash detonates twice; and Axios repeats its crescent. Against Kashapa, movement is part of the response: clearing the center is followed by returning inward before the outer ring.
Wait for a clear approach when poison, a portal or a moving wall blocks the route back. Recheck facing after the boss changes target.
Use the regional entries above to reach the correct area, then look for these smaller landmarks. Nearby enemy names identify the surroundings; they are not additional conditions for making the boss spawn.
