Altgard is the Asmodian home territory, the region on the Asmodae side of the Bulwark where Asmodian characters begin. It is the mirror of Verteron in structure and the darker of the two in tone: a Balaur warship came down in the north of it and the ground has not recovered.
Completing Altgard's hero quest line spawns a spatial transfer portal to Morheim, gated on level, item level and combat power.

Location | What it is | |
|---|---|---|
Safe Haven | A human settlement in northern Altgard that used to be where criminals and fugitives washed up. After the Dredgion came down it became, unexpectedly, the area spared from Balaur attacks. | |
Dredgion Crash Site | The canyon where the [[Fafnir Legion's | balaur]] Dredgion hit. The impact scorched the land and the leaking Drakana corrupted the soil, leaving a hazardous zone cut off from everything around it. |
Sanctum Outpost | Once an Archon sanctuary built around Zikel's Sanctum. It fell in the fighting against Fafnir and is now a Balaur stronghold, where Draconute Warriors capture Daevas and turn them into Fafnites. | |
Moslan Forest | A forest between northern Altgard and the Basfelt Ruins, once a sanctuary for the Elim and the Nornir. The High Priest Hystan burned it, and only wounded Elim remain. | |
Nornir Assembly | A settlement built by Nornir refugees from Moslan Forest, shielded by their own magic and led by Urd of the Three Sisters of Fate. |
Altgard runs the same field layer as the other territories: Sealed Dungeons, Strongholds and Monoliths, field bosses and the travel network, all covered by the Daeva Express batch-completion system on the Korean and Taiwanese build.
Altgard is the Asmodian half of the Spacetime Rift: Scramble rotation on the Korean and Taiwanese build, defended by the Asmodian on the weeks when Verteron is not being defended by the Elyos. The entry requirements, the group-of-five stronghold layout and the three-Monolith capture rule are the same on both sides; the full table is on Verteron.
Altgard shares its name with a region in the original AION. Everything above comes from AION 2's own material. The two games' maps are not a one-to-one carry-over, and a place from the first game should not be assumed to exist here.
World and Regions for the world structure. Morheim for the territory Altgard leads into. Verteron for the Elyos counterpart. Balaur for the force that wrecked it.
