A timber pillar
A timber pillar is the basic wooden support in the Pillars and Beams category. It costs two Wood, builds in 1s, and has 750 max health. Pillars hold up floors and roofs and let you build upward, so a timber pillar is usually one of the first vertical supports you place when adding a second storey to a starter house.

Progression Notes
Pillar (Timber) is placed during base building with the construction hammer once its plan is learned. As a cheap vertical support among the building pieces, it is ideal for early multi-storey builds before you switch to stone or plaster pillars. See the Pillars and Beams overview to compare durability across the set.
