Overview

Lighting is the full set of light-source decorations in Windrose. 30 pieces across three sub-categories (Wall Torch + Wall Lamps, Chandeliers, and standalone Lamps and Candlesticks) plus the craft-station Floor-Standing Torch.

Lighting Categories

Interior versus Exterior

Most lighting pieces are interior-only: lamps, candlesticks, and chandeliers need a wall or ceiling to mount on. Wall Torches work indoors and outdoors. The Floor-Standing Torch is the only dedicated outdoor lighting option and also doubles as a camp beacon at night.

All lighting provides purely visual lighting. There is no in-game vision or darkness mechanic that requires a lit lamp for combat, but placed lights dramatically improve the atmosphere of interior spaces during the night/day cycle.

Tips

• Chandeliers provide the widest ceiling light coverage. Use Large Chandelier in the center of a great hall and Small Chandelier in side rooms.

• Wall Torches are the cheapest outdoor lighting option. Place them along the path from your Bonfire to the Tent to mark the camp at night.

• Candlesticks and Standing Lamps do not require wall mounts and can be placed on any Table or Shelf surface.

• The Floor-Standing Torch is the only craft-station light and the only one with a wick that visibly burns. Budget Wood for refills.

• Lighting decoration counts toward the Building Contest decor variety score. Mix chandeliers, wall torches, and candlesticks for max variety.
