Healing Potion is a consumable that instantly restores roughly 55% of the player's health in Windrose. It is the baseline combat healing option, crafted at the Alchemy Table.
Station | Recipe | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Alchemy Table | 1 Alchemical Base + 3 Healing Herbs | Primary recipe |
Alchemy Table | 1 Alchemical Base + 2 Undead Essence | Alternative recipe using Cursed Swamps materials |
Alchemical Base is crafted at the Alchemy Table from 1 Clay Bottle plus 1 Misty Orchid. Healing Herbs drop from Ancient Ruins chests. Undead Essence drops from Cursed Swamps undead enemies.
Property | Value |
|---|---|
Heal Amount | Approximately 55% of Max Health |
Heal Type | Instant |
Use Time | Short animation during which the player is vulnerable |
Healing Potions are the right choice for emergency recovery during combat, because the heal is instant rather than over-time. Save them for moments when Bandages would be too slow (the Bandage HoT cancels on damage). In boss fights, most players carry a mix: 3 to 5 Healing Potions for emergencies plus 5 to 10 Bandages for calm recovery between phases.

The Healing Potion (Rare tier) restores 55% of the player's Health instantly item page. Community guides repeat the 55% figure; the article previously carried a 55% value and is retained here as the verified number.

|---|---|---|---|
Uncommon | 35% of Health | Instant | |
Healing Potion | Rare | 55% of Health | Instant |
Epic | 80% of Health | Instant | |
Uncommon | 900 HP over 30s | HoT, interrupted by damage |
Healing Potions are crafted at the Alchemy Table. Community sources cite Healing Herbs plus an Alchemical Base as the core ingredients. Exact quantities vary across sources; inspect the in-game recipe for the definitive current numbers.
Healing Potion, like every alchemy product, depends on first unlocking the Alchemy Table. The trigger is the Misty Orchida Key Discovery plant that grows exclusively in the Coastal Jungle biome on the second island, not the starting island. Picking it up for the first time unlocks the Alchemy Table, Stove, and Minor Healing Potion recipes simultaneously.
Clay is the hidden bottleneck once the Alchemy Table is placed. Clay Bottle feeds every Alchemical Basewhich in turn feeds every potion, so a clay farming route near the second-island coast pays back faster than most other material loops. Prioritize clay on your first trip to the new biome.
The Tracker's Leathers 4-piece set bonus adds roughly 45% healing effectiveness to every consumable heal, including Healing Potion. With the bonus active, a 55% Healing Potion effectively heals closer to 80% of maximum health, bringing its output into Great Healing Potion territory at no extra alchemy cost.
The bonus also applies to allies you heal through shared consumables or bandaging, which makes Tracker's Leathers one of the strongest co-op survival sets. If your build leans on potions rather than raw damage mitigation, the 4-piece is the single highest-impact equipment decision.
Most veteran builds carry all three healing tools at once rather than relying on potions alone. The logic:
Rally Healing refills health for free during active combat, as long as the player keeps swinging after taking a hit. This is the first layer and should cover most open-world damage.
Bandages handle between-fight recovery where safety can be established. The 900 HP over 30 seconds cancels on damage, so bandages work only when nothing is actively chasing you.
Healing Potions are reserved for emergencies: sudden burst damage, boss mechanics, or moments when Rally and Bandages both fail. The instant heal is the only mid-combat option, so spending one on out-of-combat recovery wastes the defining advantage.
A typical boss loadout carries 5 to 10 Bandages plus 3 to 5 Healing Potions, with Rally absorbing the rest. Burning through potions in the opening minute usually means the Rally habit has not formed yet, not that the potion supply was too small.
