Rosalinda Mercer is one of the four hireable workers available in Windrose. She is the dedicated Alchemist, assigned to the Alchemy Table at the player's base. Her two traits combine to meaningfully cut Clay Bottle consumption and push Elixir output above baseline rates, which matters most for builds that lean on healing potions and combat elixirs.

How to Hire
Rosalinda stands at a wooden market stall on the lower coastal bend of Tortuga's main market, closer to the ocean. The distinctive landmark is a dead shark hung from a small wooden setup right next to her stall, which makes the stall easy to spot while scanning the market.
Interacting with her opens the hire prompt for 500 Piastre. No faction reputation is required; once the Piastre are spent, she is added to the roster of hirable workers at the base.
Hiring is only step one. Travel back to the base, open the Alchemy Table's worker assignment tab, and assign Rosalinda there. Her bonuses do not apply anywhere else, and they do not apply anywhere at all until she is explicitly assigned to that station.
Traits
Master Bottle Maker
Doubles Clay Bottle output when crafting Clay Bottles at the Alchemy Table. Every craft that produces a bottle produces two instead of one while Rosalinda is assigned.
This matters more than it sounds. Clay Bottles are consumed by almost every Alchemy Table recipe that produces a potion, elixir, tonic, or grog, so the effective Clay Bottle economy is roughly doubled for the entire alchemy loop. Builds that rely on stacks of Minor Healing Potions, Elixir of Cruelty, or Deadeye Grog will see the biggest real impact.
Talented Alchemist
30% chance to craft an additional Elixir each time an Elixir is made at the Alchemy Table. The bonus is specific to Elixirs, not to all potions or tonics.
Elixirs are the long-duration combat buffs (for example, Elixir of Cruelty) rather than the instant heals. Running an Elixir batch with Rosalinda assigned is straightforwardly the cheapest way to build an Elixir stock before a boss run.
When to Hire Rosalinda
Rosalinda is one of the four workers every base wants eventually, and the two most common sequences are either Mortar Joe first (for Homemade Gunpowder) or Rosalinda first (for Healing Potions and Elixirs). Pick Rosalinda first if your build depends on consumables rather than gunpowder, and pick Mortar Joe first if you are a firearm-heavy build that burns through gunpowder faster than bandages.
All four workers cost 500 Piastre each. The full 2,000 Piastre to hire the complete set is a common mid-game milestone target for surviving Cursed Swamps content.
Location Notes
Rosalinda stands in Tortuga near the lower coastal bend. Current location guides describe a small market-style stall close to the water, with a dead shark hanging nearby as the easiest landmark for finding the right spot.
Why She Matters
Rosalinda improves both sides of the early alchemy loop at the same time. Doubling bottle output reduces the cost of basic potion setup, while the extra-elixir chance stretches scarce herbs and other alchemy ingredients over longer crafting sessions. Because those two perks stack on the same station, Rosalinda usually pays off much faster than a pure convenience hire.
Why Bottle Doubling Matters
Rosalinda's first perk is not just a convenience bonus. Clay Bottle output sits under a large part of the early and mid-game alchemy loop, so doubling that step reduces the friction of making healing items and other elixirs before the player even starts benefiting from her extra-elixir chance.
Her two perks support the same station instead of splitting value across different systems.
That makes her stronger than workers who only improve one side of a production chain.
Players who keep alchemy stocked between outings feel her value quickly because both the bottle step and the final elixir step improve.
