Flibustier Set

Corrected the leather upgrade station name to Tanning Rack with a link and repointed the Marathon Runner link to its own page
Flibustier Set is the one-handed weapon specialist armor. It lowers attack stamina cost at 2-piece and boosts one-handed damage at 4-piece, making it the optimal set for Saber, Rapier, Club, and Pistol builds.
2-piece: Attacks consume 20% less Stamina. This is the largest flat stamina efficiency buff in the game and effectively extends every combo by one or two additional swings.
4-piece: +15% damage with one-handed weapons. Stacks multiplicatively on top of your Precision/Agility/Strength scaling.
Five slots (Hat, Jacket, Pants, Gloves, Boots). Flibustier is a leather set and upgrades with tanned hides from the Tanning Rack. Common upgrade material progression:
Lower tiers: Rough Hide.
Mid tiers: Tanned Leather.
Late tiers: Crocodile Hide Piece produced from Cursed Swamps crocodiles.
One-handed melee players Saber, Rapier, and Club users see the largest direct gain from the 4-piece.
Pistol-focused Precision builds pistols count as one-handed for the 4-piece bonus.
Stamina-hungry playstyles the 2-piece alone is often worth pairing with a non-matching set piece for builds that spam heavy attacks.
Marathon Runner talent stacks stamina efficiency with the 2-piece bonus.
Endurance allocation for a larger stamina pool.
Coffee Epic dish for +20 Endurance.
Flibustier pieces are the classic swashbuckler look. The profile is lean: a wide-brim feathered hat, an open jacket cut short enough to clear a rapier draw, loose sash-belted pants, and soft leather boots. Upgrade tiers darken the palette from rough brown hide at the base level into blacker leathers with silk accents at the Tanned Leather and Crocodile Hide tiers, all without adding visible plating. The set is deliberately designed to look fast, which reinforces its mechanical identity as a one-handed pressure loadout that trades protection for combo sustain.
Pistols count as one-handed weapons for the Flibustier 4-piece bonus, which is the reason this set consistently beats the Marksman Set for any build that mixes a pistol with a one-handed melee weapon. Marksman's 4-piece adds +15% damage to ranged weapons only; Flibustier's 4-piece adds the same +15% to every one-handed weapon in the loadout, which in a pistol-plus-saber kit covers both the pistol and the melee weapon. Flibustier therefore pays out on every hit, while Marksman pays out only on the ranged portion of the loadout.
Stamina cost matters more than most players expect. The 2-piece attack stamina reduction of 20% turns directly into more uptime in melee combat. A rapier combo that normally runs out of stamina after five swings now lands six or seven. For a pistol-plus-cutlass loadout, that extra swing means more Take Aim stacks before the Drake's Double-Barreled Pistol shot, which compounds into more damage on the pistol shot itself.
Best companion weapons. The clearest top-tier Flibustier loadout pairs the Drake's Double-Barreled Pistol with either the Cutlass for burst combos (Take Aim stacks then double-tap Vulnerability shots) or the Rapier of a Thousand Cuts for the self-healing bleed loop. Both paths scale off shared stat investments thanks to Flibustier's agnostic one-handed bonus.
Flibustier is the strongest armor choice for a one-handed plague combo built around the Arboris Saber. The saber retains its plague-echoes stacks when you swap to a pistol mid-fight, so the standard rotation runs the saber for stack generation and burst, then swings in the Drake's Double-Barreled Pistol for the +15% vulnerability debuff before chaining back to the saber. The 4-piece +15% one-handed damage bonus applies to both halves of that loop, while the 2-piece stamina reduction lets the saber land an extra swing or two before the bar empties, which usually means one more echoes stack consumed per engagement.
Talent picks that reinforce the same one-handed identity:
Quick Strikes: stacks attack speed alongside the 2-piece stamina reduction, lifting the effective damage-per-second ceiling on saber combos.
Surgical Cuts: rewards consistent one-handed pressure with bonus damage on follow-up swings, dovetailing with the 4-piece bonus.
Deadly Finale: amplifies the closing strike of a combo, which is exactly the swing the saber lands after the pistol vulnerability debuff is up.
Duelist: pure one-handed damage scaling, fully covered by Flibustier's set identity.
Reliable Musket sniper builds and the boss-killer Rapier of Devastation build prefer the Privateer Set instead. Privateer's crit chance and crit damage scaling multiplies the rapier's mark-consumption damage and the musket's headshot crits, both of which gain more from a single fat crit than from sustained one-handed pressure. Flibustier remains a reasonable fallback for the rapier build if Privateer is not yet farmed, since the 4-piece still applies to the rapier's base hits, but the ceiling is lower.
