How Beds Work

The Elegant Bed is one of six bed pieces in Windrose. Placing it lets you set your revival point, so you respawn beside it instead of at the previous spawn after death. Like every bed, it is a decoration first: sleeping does not advance time or restore health and stamina, so the bed is there for the respawn anchor and the Comfort System bonus rather than for resting.

The Elegant Bed grants a Comfort bonus of +2 in the Bed sub-category, and that bonus only counts while the bed sits inside Bonfire range. Comfort bonuses in this sub-category do not stack, so a single bed reaches the cap; a second bed of the same kind only changes the look of the room. The piece also requires a roof overhead and snaps to a flat Floors surface, oriented to the nearest wall, taking up a small floor footprint.

Tips

• Build the Elegant Bed inside a roofed room that sits within Bonfire range, or its Comfort bonus will not apply.

• The recipe is taught by the Decoration: Elegant Bed plan; learn the plan before you can place the bed.

• If you already run a Simple Bed With Headboard, the Elegant Bed gives the same +2 comfort, so swap purely for the look rather than for a stat gain.

• Place the headboard against a wall for the cleanest snap, and finish the floor and roof first so the bed has a surface to attach to.
