Deckhand Insignia is a Rare reputation item in Windrose. It comes from veteran Blackbeard crew members (notably Blackbeard Sergeant) and is turned in at any Tortuga archipelago faction for a mid-tier reputation reward. The item's second flavor line reads "Worn by hands that don't hesitate to kill," emphasizing that Deckhand is the hardened next-step up from the base Newhand rank. This is the second tier in the four-rung Faction Insignia ladder.

Deckhand Insignia is not bought or sold by any vendor. It has no Piastre value. Route all Deckhand Insignias through the Bounty Agent system for Faction Reputation.

Loot Sources

Deckhand Insignia drops from mid-tier Blackbeard encounters. Sergeants are the guaranteed source, while low-rank mobs occasionally carry the insignia at a 10% rate.

How to Cash Out

Deckhand Insignia is the first insignia tier that rewards dedicated farming. The Highlands Giga Camp Blackbeard chest drops 10 insignias at a guaranteed 100% rate, which is enough for a full mid-tier reputation bump in a single trip. Pair that camp clear with Cutter boarding actions along the Foothills coast to build up a stack of 20 to 30 insignias before cashing out at a Bounty Agent.

Because Deckhand stacks with Newhand Insignia on the turn-in counter but rewards roughly five times more reputation per unit, save Deckhand for rank-threshold pushes rather than mixing the two tiers into a single hand-in.

Tips

• Blackbeard Sergeants are the quickest guaranteed source. Scout the Coastal Jungle camps and knock out the named Sergeants before engaging the rest of the garrison.

• The Highlands Giga Camp chest is the single highest-yield Deckhand Insignia source (10 per clear, 100% rate). Bring a Swamp-tier weapon to trivialize the mob escort.

• Cutters yield a guaranteed insignia from both Boarding and Destroyed Ship Container loot, so sinking a Cutter nets 2 Deckhand Insignias regardless of how the engagement ends.

Reputation Payout

Turning in one Deckhand Insignia at any faction Bounty Agent grants +4 reputation with the chosen faction. The value is identical at every Bounty Agent stall, so the item can be routed to whichever faction is closest to its next rank threshold.

Rank 2 requires 100 reputation, Rank 3 requires 400, and Rank 4 requires 1,000. A single Deckhand Insignia therefore closes 4% of the gap from Rank 1 to Rank 2.

Drops from Blackbeard Sergeants at 100% and from Cutter boardings; a 10-count chest at the Highlands Giga Camp is a reliable bulk source.
