Sir Lamorak is one of the Spectral Knights that Gwendolyn can summon through the Dual Frontline Battle System. He wields a spear and channels red electrical/lightning energy. Among the confirmed spectral knights, Lamorak has received the most screen time in pre-release footage.
Combat abilities
Lamorak specializes in lightning-based attacks. His abilities include:
Imbuing Gwendolyn's sword with electrical energy for additional lightning damage
Swift battlefield movement, complementing aggressive playstyles
Spear attacks with reach and area-of-effect lightning bursts
Coordinated strikes through the Partnered State system
Partnered State with Lamorak
When Gwendolyn enters Partnered State with Lamorak, her dodges cover more distance as she rides on his back. Their attacks synchronize into extended combo chains, and Lamorak can parry powerful enemy attacks that Gwendolyn cannot defend against alone.
Boss Fight Role
Lamorak appears as Gwendolyn's ally during the Tyronoe boss fight shown in the Xbox Partner Preview trailer. During this encounter, players control both Gwendolyn and Lamorak simultaneously. They attack in tandem to break Tyronoe's magical barriers while shifting in and out of the Mirror Space Folded Realm. At the fight's climax, Lamorak throws his spear to Gwendolyn, enabling her to shatter the mirrored barrier separating the Folded Realms.
Arthurian Origins
In Arthurian legend, Sir Lamorak de Gales was the son of King Pellinore and one of the strongest knights at the Round Table. Some sources rank him as the third-strongest knight after Lancelot and Tristram. He had a bitter rivalry with the Orkney brothers (Gawain, Agravain, Gaheris, and Gareth) because Pellinore had killed their father, King Lot. Lamorak was eventually murdered through treachery by the Orkney brothers rather than defeated in fair combat. The game picks up on his legendary strength by making him one of the most prominent spectral knight allies.
Design Philosophy
The developers have stated that each spectral knight should feel like a genuine ally rather than a disposable tool. Lamorak's prominent role in trailer footage and his presence in a scripted boss encounter suggest he may be one of the first spectral knights that players unlock, serving as an introduction to the summoning system.
Spear Moveset
Lamorak's default attack pattern centers on his spear, which gives him substantially longer reach than Gwendolyn's sword. Pre-release footage shows him punching out single-target lightning thrusts at distance, sweeping arcs at mid-range, and bursting a small area-of-effect lightning crackle when he plants the spear into the ground. He is presented as a "spear-and-thunder" knight whose pace lands between a pure brawler and a pure ranged unit.
Lightning Imbuing
When Lamorak imbues Gwendolyn's sword, the blade gains a red-electrical aura and the next several swings apply lightning damage. The trailer footage emphasizes this effect in the moments leading into a finisher, framing the imbue as both a damage buff and a visual signature for the Lamorak loadout.
Partnered State Carry
Lamorak's Partnered State merge is one of the clearest examples of how the system changes Gwendolyn's movement. Dodges become extended slides, with Gwendolyn carried on Lamorak's back for the duration of the evasion. The merged form synchronizes attacks: Gwendolyn slashes while Lamorak thrusts in alternating timing, and the combo finishes with a paired thrust that drives the enemy back. Lamorak's parry covers the heaviest enemy attacks Gwendolyn cannot block alone.
Role In The Tyronoe Fight
In the November 2025 Xbox Partner Preview trailer, Lamorak is a co-fighter against Tyronoe. Both characters shift in and out of the Mirror Space Folded Realm to attack Tyronoe and break the magical barriers that separate the two folded layers of the arena. At the fight's climax, Lamorak throws his spear across the gap to Gwendolyn so she can shatter the final mirror wall. The encounter is structured to show off the Lamorak loadout as a kind of two-character beat-em-up beat inside a single-player game.
In The Roster
Lamorak is currently the most-shown member of the Spectral Knights roster. The studio has used him as the introductory example of the broader system across multiple trailers and developer interviews. He is expected to be available relatively early in the campaign so the player can experience the Partnered State mechanic before the full roster opens up.
