Tides of Annihilation is a fantasy action-adventure game developed and published by Eclipse Glow Games, an independent Chinese studio based in Chengdu. The team of over 100 developers includes veterans from Yakuza, Assassin's Creed, For Honor, Persona, and Prince of Persia. The studio has received investment from Tencent. This is Eclipse Glow's debut title, built on Unreal Engine 5 with Nanite and Lumen technology.
Premise
London has been torn apart by an invasion from another realm. The protagonist, Gwendolyn, is the lone survivor of the cataclysm. She discovers a mysterious gray fog that lets her summon spectral forms of the Knights of the Round Table. Her mission: find scattered Grail Shards to save her sister, restore the shattered world, and take revenge on the demi-gods of Avalon responsible for the destruction.
Two Realms
The game takes place across two interconnected settings:

Modern London where familiar landmarks have been scarred and twisted by the supernatural invasion
Avalon, the mystical island of Arthurian legend, home to Morgan le Fay's eight sisters
Core Gameplay
Combat is fast and stylish, inspired by Devil May Cry rather than Souls-like games. The signature mechanic is the Dual Frontline Battle System, which lets players summon and command Spectral Knights in real time. Other features include:

Over 30 boss fights, each with unique abilities and dimension-shifting arenas
Colossal Knights that serve as both explorable environments and boss encounters
Four weapon types including swords, fists, bows, and one unannounced category
Selectable difficulty modes rather than a fixed Souls-like challenge
Over 30 hours of gameplay on average
Arthurian Cast
The game deliberately highlights lesser-known figures from Arthurian legend alongside the familiar names. Gwendolyn is voiced by Jennifer English (Shadowheart from Baldur's Gate 3). Mordred is voiced by Aliona Baranova (also from BG3). The two actors are real-life partners playing opposing characters.

Platforms and release
Tides of Annihilation is planned for 2026 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). All platforms are intended to launch simultaneously. The game supports 9 languages with full English voice acting.
Combat Highlights
The combat draws from the character-action lineage of Devil May Cry and similar genre entries, rather than the slower-paced soulslike school. Producer Kun Fu has emphasized that progression is built around player skill, weapon mastery, and knight roster choices rather than gear stats. Selectable difficulty modes are confirmed, so combat can be tuned from showcase-level to a stricter challenge run without locking content behind a single setting.
On top of the Dual Frontline Battle System, the game layers in Partnered State merges, Mirror Space Folded Realm arena shifts, and large-scale set pieces against the Colossal Knights that wander Greater London. Pre-release footage emphasizes aerial juggles, mid-combo summons, and elemental imbuing as the core toolkit.
World Structure
The campaign moves between two interlinked spaces: the fallen London on the mortal side and the dreamlike Avalon on the other. The two realms are presented as having folded together during the invasion, so several locations exist in both states at once and traversal between them is a core part of the campaign rather than a backdrop. The hub article Arthurian Legend in Tides of Annihilation explains how Eclipse Glow Games reshaped the mythology for this setting.
