Side quests are optional missions Elliot can take on for townspeople and NPCs across the four ages of Philabieldia. They reward extra weapons, accessories, and tul, and a few early ones are mandatory to advance the main story. Most are accepted by speaking with the King of Huther after clearing a dungeon, or by finding the NPC who needs help.
How Side Quests Work
Side quests are accepted by talking to the right NPC, usually after reaching a story milestone. The first pair in the Age of Safekeeping is mandatory and rewards Elliot's first alternate weapons, while later ones are fully optional. If a quest cannot be accepted yet, more main-story progress is usually required first.
Each quest below lists its client, where it starts, how it unlocks, the objective, and the reward.

Quests in Later Ages
The Age of Magic and Age of Budding each have their own side quests in the full game, but their details were not part of the pre-launch demo, which covered only the Age of Safekeeping and the Age of Reconstruction. This page will expand as the later ages are confirmed.
