Beyond his weapons and magicite, Elliot equips two other kinds of gear: accessories and a shield. Neither deals direct damage on its own. Instead, they grant passive effects that improve combat, defense, exploration, and survivability throughout the journey across Philabieldia.
Accessories
Accessories provide passive effects. Elliot starts with a single accessory slot, and more slots open up as the story progresses, eventually allowing up to three accessories at once. Combining accessories is a major part of shaping a build alongside magicite.

Accessory Slots
At the start of the game only one accessory slot is available. Additional slots unlock as Elliot progresses, up to a maximum of three. Spreading effects across these slots, alongside the right magicite, is how players tailor Elliot to a chosen playstyle.
Shields
Shields are a separate equipment type from accessories and can be equipped alongside Elliot's weapons. They are used for frontal guards and counterattacks in the combat system, and each shield has a stamina value that depletes as it blocks. Elliot begins the adventure with the Buckler, a basic one-star iron shield with 5 stamina. Accessories such as the Scallop's Charm and magicite such as Shield Repair can improve how quickly shield stamina recovers.
How to Obtain Equipment
Starting gear: Elliot begins with the Buckler shield.
Digital Deluxe Edition: grants the Fairy Bangle, Cherry Blossom Anklet, and Roselle Ring from the start (see Editions and Preorder Bonuses).
Shops: several accessories, including the Flutterer's Cape, can be purchased.
Side quests: completing optional quests rewards accessories such as the Scallop's Charm and the Lotus Chain (see Side Quests).
