Starsand Station
February 27, 2026 at 07:00 AM
Major expansion with full quest walkthrough (Solara, Yang, Soup Dumplings, materials), all 10 bus stop locations table, repair materials, travel cost, progression connection (Island Life ranks, achievements), and practical tips
Starsand Station is the central fast travel hub on Starsand Island. It functions as both a narrative landmark and the primary node in the island's bus stop network. Once built, the station enables players to instantly teleport between 10 fixed locations across the island for a small gold fee. Starsand Station is also where the crossover characters from the My Time series first arrive on the island.
The station and the island's fast travel network are unlocked through the "Building Starsand Station" quest. This quest becomes available after reaching the "Island Pro" stage of your Island Life ranking and completing the Maritime Bureau construction quest with Marston. The quest typically appears approximately one week into gameplay.
Find Solara at the Community Center (she is usually there in the morning). She asks you to visit Railway Worker Yang at the construction site near the beach.
Talk to Railway Worker Yang at the station site.
Cook 4 Soup Dumplings at a Campfire. Each Soup Dumpling requires 2 Meat Bites + 3 Flour. Meat Bites are made by processing any meat (Beef, Fowl, Pork, or Mutton) in a Separator. Flour is made by processing Wheat in a Separator.
Deliver the 4 Soup Dumplings to Yang.
Gather and deliver construction materials to Yang (see table below).
Material | Quantity |
|---|---|
Iron Sheets | 5 |
Glass Panes | 5 |
Softwood Planks | 5 |
Stone Bricks | 5 |
After delivering all materials, the station is built and the bus stop network becomes available. However, this does not immediately give full fast travel access. Players must then physically travel to each of the other 9 bus stop locations across the island and repair them individually before they become usable.
There are 10 bus stops scattered across the island, marked with a train icon on the map. All stations are interconnected: once repaired, you can travel from any active stop to any other active stop. At least two stops must be operational before the system becomes usable.
Stop | Area | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Starsand Station | Central hub, main town | Built during the quest (no repair needed) |
East Hopeland | Near player's farm | Standard materials |
Ranch area | Standard materials | |
Northwest, near Zephyria | Standard materials | |
East Starsand | Eastern island | Standard materials |
Crane Cape | Coastal area | Standard materials |
Southeast, near Delphin | Standard materials | |
Port area, near Marston | Standard materials | |
North Starsand | Northern island | Standard materials |
Mountainous inland area | Unique materials: uses Bamboo Boards instead of Softwood Planks |
Each bus stop must be individually repaired with materials before it becomes active. Nine of the ten stops use the same standard material set. Cloudrest Lake is the only exception.
Material | Standard Stops (each) | Cloudrest Lake |
|---|---|---|
Stone Bricks | 10 | 10 |
Glass Panes | 5 | 5 |
Softwood Planks | 10 | N/A |
Bamboo Boards | N/A | 10 |
Iron Sheets | 5 | 5 |
Repairing all 9 stops requires a total of 90 Stone Bricks, 45 Glass Panes, 80 Softwood Planks, 10 Bamboo Boards, and 45 Iron Sheets. This is a significant mid-game resource investment, so most players repair stops gradually as they explore new areas.
To use fast travel, walk to any operational bus stop and interact with it. A list of all other active stops appears, and you can select your destination for instant teleportation. You cannot fast travel from the map menu; you must physically be at a station to use the system.
Detail | Information |
|---|---|
Travel Cost | Approximately 15 Gold per trip |
Travel Time | Instant teleportation |
Restrictions | Must be physically at a bus stop to use it |
Minimum Requirement | At least 2 stops must be active before the system works |
Starsand Station and the bus stop network are deeply integrated into the Island Life progression system. Building all 10 stations is one of the requirements for reaching the Starsand Legend rank, the final progression tier, which also unlocks access to Windflute Island.
Achievement | Requirement | Description |
|---|---|---|
Get on Board Now! | Build your first bus stop | "Toot toot! All aboard!" |
Road Master | Build all 9 bus stops | "Go wherever you want, whenever you want." |
For endgame players, Teleporters serve as an alternative to bus stops. Unlike the fixed bus stop locations, Teleporters can be placed anywhere on the island and are free to use. However, they require rare endgame materials including Eternal Alloy, a Perpetual Reactor, and a Spirit Cube III.
Starsand Station is the arrival point for all crossover characters from the My Time series:
Gust and Ginger (My Time at Portia): Available from the start of the game. Met during the opening sequence at the station.
Fang and Nia (My Time at Sandrock): Arrive on the first day of Autumn. Players must visit the station to find them.
The Moonlit Forest has its own separate fast travel system using restored camps rather than bus stops. Camp fast travel is unlocked by repairing Moonweavers with Fluorite. The bus stop network does not extend into the Moonlit Forest; traveling between the main island and the forest requires going through a loading screen.
Prioritize repairing the bus stop nearest your home first, then one near the mines or town center to cover your most frequent routes.
The Soup Dumplings for the quest require Flour, which means you need access to Wheat and a Separator. If you have not unlocked flour production yet, plant Wheat early and use Fertilizer II to speed up growth.
A Skateboard (crafted item) provides free movement speed across the island and complements the bus network well for shorter trips.
Mounts can also be rented from NPCs for quick travel between nearby areas.
