The Chrono Arcade is an entertainment venue in Starsand Town run by Loren. It features two playable arcade machines, gacha capsule machines, and a lottery scratchcard system. The arcade operates on a token currency separate from coins. Open 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.

The arcade is located in the northeastern cluster of buildings in Starsand Town, marked with a game controller icon on the map near the Community Center.
The Chrono Arcade is split across two levels.

Two capsule machines sit on the counter next to the cash register. Each pull costs 20 tokens. You pick from five capsule colors (Golden, Purple, Blue, Green, White), but the color is purely cosmetic and does not affect what prize you receive. Drops are completely random regardless of which color you choose.
Known gacha drops include:
Furniture and clothing blueprints (gacha exclusives like the Wok Spatula)
Crafting ores (Tin, Copper)
Stone and basic crafting materials
Home decor items
Lottery scratchcard machines are located on the lower floor and outside the arcade entrance. Two types are available.
Type | Cost | Win Chance |
|---|---|---|
Single-panel scratchcard | 5 tokens | Lower |
Multi-panel scratchcard | 10 tokens | Higher |
Both types award Chrono tokens as prizes. Chrono tokens can be spent on exclusive arcade rewards separate from the minigame point rewards.
Loren is the owner and operator of the Chrono Arcade. He is a soft-spoken, cheerful gamer who cares more about whether everyone is having a good time than about the arcade turning a profit. He is fully romanceable.
Loren was famously skilled in a popular online game and pursued a professional gaming career. At age 18, his younger sister Momo was diagnosed with a congenital lung condition. Loren became her sole guardian, and at age 20, he retired from competitive gaming and relocated to Starsand Island for its clean, fresh air to help with Momo's health. He arrived about one year before the game's events and opened the Chrono Arcade using his savings. He spends his spare time developing his own video game.

|---|---|
Birthday | Month 3, Day 6 |
Height | 178 cm |
Weight | 68 kg |
Occupation | Arcade Manager |
Family | Momo (younger sister) |
Romanceable | Yes |
Loren spends roughly 90% of his time inside the Chrono Arcade, either behind the counter on the main floor or playing games on the lower floor. On sunny afternoons he sometimes leaves to shop at Zerine's General Store, eat at Aureleaf Kitchen, or buy sugar painting treats for Momo. During winter months he spends more time with Momo, including pet shop visits and park outings.
The table below lists Loren's confirmed gift preferences. Starsand Island is in Early Access, so some values may change with updates.
Category | Items |
|---|---|
Loved (+15) | Coconut Latte, Lunar Crystal, Chip |
Liked (+10) | Cacao Laco, Grilled Fish, Plain Noodles, Purple Hydrangea, Sweet and Sour Pork, Veggie Noodles, Grilled Chicken Wings |
Hated | Blue Sleep Lily, Yellow Sleep Lily |
Collect your 20 free tokens daily even if you do not plan to play. Tokens carry over and add up fast.
Gacha machines are the main way to get certain exclusive furniture and clothing blueprints that are not available anywhere else.
Focus on beating your Personal Best score in each minigame for the best rewards. Cumulative points build passively over many sessions.
The arcade is a good rainy-day activity when outdoor farming or fishing is less productive.
Loren is one of the easiest NPCs to locate since he rarely leaves the arcade. Bring him a Coconut Latte or Chip daily to build affection quickly.
Multi-panel scratchcards (10 tokens) have better odds than single-panel cards (5 tokens). If you have tokens to spare, the multi-panel is the better value.
On April 9, 2026, Starsand Island's Steam store page was temporarily delisted. The next day, Seed Sparkle Lab published an "Important Announcement: Game Content Adjustment" explaining that core visual elements from a classic title were used without proper authorization within the game's mini-game section due to a planning-phase oversight. The announcement did not name the specific mini-game; the Chrono Arcade is the in-game hub that houses Starblock and Foodybara and is therefore the most likely affected area.
A corrected build was submitted to Valve the same day, saves were preserved, and all players were promised a free Shining Star Outfit Set DLC as compensation, targeted for delivery within roughly seven business days. The Xbox Series X|S release on the Microsoft Store, including Xbox Game Pass, remained live throughout the review period. Patch 0.4.8191 shipped to Xbox on April 16 while the Steam build awaited re-review.
The Chrono Arcade layout, token system, minigame rewards, gacha pools, and scratchcards described above reflect the live Xbox build and the Steam build owned by existing buyers. Any changes introduced by the corrected build will be reflected here once the Steam version relists. For the full context and FAQ, see the April 2026 Delisting article.
