Added desert-town framing, Virelda music note, and facilities/life-skill intros
Virelda is your safe haven, workshop, and base of operations in Soulbound: Online. After your first defeat at the hands of the Anima, a robotic rescuer recovers you and brings you here, and it becomes the home you return to between dungeon runs.
Virelda is where your lasting, meta progression lives. It is the home of your personal base, so the crafting and base building you do here, building and upgrading stations, brewing potions, and cooking meals, is what carries over from run to run. It is also where you prepare and resupply before heading back out.
As a haven within a hostile digital world, Virelda anchors the calmer side of the game: the life skills, crafting, and customization that sit opposite the chaos of a dungeon dive. The studio frames it as your own safe space, and groups can also build guild bases as a shared version of the same idea.
In the live build, Virelda is a desert community and the first major town of the journey, a bustling hub despite the harsh surroundings. The studio leaned into that contrast even in its music, scoring the town with instruments like the Armenian duduk, harp, and cello to make a hard place still feel like a home worth coming back to.
Virelda is where the game introduces its core systems. It holds storage, vendors for seeds, accessories, potions, and food, and the introductory quests for the life skills: cooking at a kitchen, brewing at a chemistry lab, farming at a homestead, plus foraging and mining nearby. It is also the home of your personal base and its crafting stations, and a staging point with routes out to the wider world.
Specific facilities and exits come from the live browser build and may change for the Steam release.
