Neo-Tilus

Added a harbour fishing screenshot to the fishing section
Neo-Tilus is the coastal town east of Virelda, and for most players it is the third settlement they reach. Where Virelda teaches crafting and Arcadia teaches the economy, Neo-Tilus is where fishing stops being a novelty and becomes a real skill. The fishing questline starts here, most of the fishing spots people actually use are here, and the town's live event is a fishing event.
It is also the one town where housing gets genuinely interesting, because two of its four rentable doors are the only doors anywhere in the world that will take an apartment bigger than a Small.
One naming point before anything else. The town is Neo-Tilus, with a hyphen. Neotilus without one is a gear set, the Trailseeker line of head, chest and feet pieces, and it is genuinely spelled that way. Neither is a typo for the other, and normalising one into the other breaks both.
Route | Comes From |
|---|---|
Seabreeze Pass | Virelda, arriving on the west side of town |
Needlepoint Pass | Everdune, arriving on the north-east side |
Recall Disc | Anywhere, if you are carrying one |
Home teleport | Anywhere, once you register Neo-Tilus with the town's teleport office |
Registering your home point here is worth doing early if you intend to level Fishing, since the alternative is a long walk from Virelda every time your stamina refills.
Place or Person | What It Is For |
|---|---|
Bank | Executive Lera handles banking and item storage |
Skipper | General goods, including a local recall disc, food and a coarse core residue |
Fishmonger | Turns caught fish into raw fillets for a flat fee in gold |
Neo-Tilus Museum | The setting for a pearl heist quest, and the route through to the Everdune beacon |
Librarian | Trades a currency of its own for cosmetics |
Sushi Bar | A stamina regeneration point, added on 7 August 2026 |
The Sushi Bar is the piece of that list confirmed by the studio. It was added alongside another rest point in the same patch, joining the tavern in Virelda and the bar in Arcadia as places where stamina comes back quickly. That matters more here than elsewhere, because every gathering action costs stamina and fishing is a gathering skill like any other. See Life Skills for how the stamina economy works.

Fishing spots cluster around the town more densely than anywhere else in the world. Player documentation names a western spot, a pool out on the eastern peninsula, a spot at the Pirate Ship, and Fishermen's Paradise out on the boat. Respawn timing on Neo-Tilus fishing spots was adjusted on 23 July 2026, so the pattern you remember from launch week is not the pattern now.
The reef off the coast is the other reason to fish here. The studio's own announcement for live events pointed players at the lootboxes on the bottom of the Neo-Tilus Reef, which is where the exclusive Followers and mounts from that track come from.
Higher-tier spots want better rods, and the rod ladder is a crafting problem rather than a fishing one, so a trip here is usually paired with a trip to your stations. Crafting and Base Building covers that side of it.
The Blackwake are a pirate faction, and the game treats them as an event fixture rather than as ordinary enemies. The studio's description is that the Blackwake have a secret fishing spot off the coast of Neo-Tilus where rare and unique fish can be caught.
That spot hosts We're Gunna Need a Bigger Boat, one of the two live events currently running. It opens for a fifteen minute window, it is reached by the boat out to Fishermen's Paradise, and it does not require a rod. Catches pay Infused Yoku Chum, which a Blackwake vendor on site trades for one of three crates. Live Events and Commissions has the full breakdown of the crates and what the event pays.
The Blackwake also run a set of three linked quests spread across the world, one of which sits here. Blackwake Boris' Vote is the Neo-Tilus entry; Betty's is in Everdune and Barry's is in Virelda. Betty's Vote was fixed on 20 August 2026 so it now progresses in every relevant dungeon difficulty.
Neo-Tilus carries four rentable doors, NT_1 through NT_4. Two of them are unusual enough to be the main reason a player moves here. NT_2 and NT_3 are the only two doors in the entire set of thirty-six that accept a Medium, Large or Penthouse apartment. Every other door in the world is specified for a Small, so if you want a big apartment with an actual street entrance rather than a keypad, this is the only town that will give you one.
Rents are player-documented and are being tuned during Early Access, so treat the figures below as current rather than settled.
Door | Apartment Accepted | Rent per Day | Skill Requirements | Farming Plot |
|---|---|---|---|---|
NT_1 | Small | 300 gold | Fishing 20 | No |
NT_2 | Small, Medium, Large or Penthouse | 300 gold | Fishing 20 | No |
NT_3 | Small, Medium, Large or Penthouse | 300 gold | Fishing 20 | No |
NT_4 | Small | 450 gold | Farming 30 and Fishing 20 | Yes, four plots |
Rent is quoted per day but charged up front for a whole term, and you pick a seven day or twenty-eight day term when you rent. Every door here wants Fishing 20 at minimum, which is a real gate rather than a formality for a character who has not fished much. Apartments and Housing covers the rental panel, auto-renew, grace periods and the rest of the system.
Quest | What It Involves |
|---|---|
Barrels O' Fun | Find a fishing rod in a barrel after speaking to Wilson, which leads into Just Keep Swimming |
Just Keep Swimming | Follows on from Barrels O' Fun |
Feeling Fishy | Catch fish for Wilson with the rod you were just given |
Fishy Business | Power the Everdune beacon, which opens Caper Diem |
Caper Diem | Plan and run a pearl heist out of the museum basement |
A Pirate's Life For Me | Work with the pirates to help Viper secure hidden treasure |
Blackwake Boris' Vote | One of the three Blackwake votes |
The Forever Flower | Speak to Glub to learn where the Forever Flower can be found |
Time on the Line | Help Finnley recover a lost watch |
Tales from the Sea | Help Finnley return an old diary |
Vinny's Dilemma | Convince Vinny to go back to Virelda |
Jungle Fever | Documented as a local quest, with no details recorded |
The fishing chain is the one to do first, since it hands you a rod and finishes with an ability. Quests has the full per-city rosters and the marker legend, and NPCs lists the characters above alongside the rest of the world's cast.
The museum is not just a heist location: it is the way through to the Everdune beacon, which puts the Fractured and higher dungeon rungs within reach without a trip back through Virelda. Seabreeze Pass runs west back to Virelda, and Needlepoint Pass runs north-east to Everdune, so the town sits on a genuine crossroads rather than at the end of a spur. The Overworld covers how the cities and beacon regions connect.
Town layout, vendor stock, rent figures and quest requirements are all being tuned during Early Access, so treat the specifics here as current rather than permanent.
