Romestead is in Early Access, which means it is actively being developed with player feedback. The developer has described an approach focused on listening to the community before committing to a long-term plan. Patch versions follow a major.minor.point_iteration scheme (for example, 0.25.1_1).
Day-One Hotfixes

Launch-Week Hotfixes
In the days after launch, Beartwigs shipped a rapid run of hotfixes targeting the most-reported issues. Each built on the day-one fixes above:
Version | Date | Highlights |
|---|---|---|
0.25.1_12 | June 10, 2026 | Updated dungeon droptables so previously-unobtainable items now drop, such as the Druid Scroll. Fixed weapons sometimes not activating their special effects and enemy-dropped trinkets that were missing random modifiers. Logistics now transports items from claypits and lumberyards, and Automatic Scorpios fire for all players. Skeletons and Ashen Skeletons no longer fight each other. Fixed the player spawn point being set incorrectly after sleeping, plus chest and other icon fixes. |
0.25.1_11 | June 8, 2026 | Made Pilums cheaper and faster to make. Fixed a crash while fighting Pyzifax and the inability to place crops next to walls. Fixed not being able to place some furniture on top of other furniture, an issue that created an incomplete save file, and updated several icons. |
0.25.1_10 | June 5, 2026 | Added new damage-type icons and a Slovak language option. Removed the citizen death penalty for failing a raid and fixed the Carpenter prioritising material storages over loose resources. Fixed Catapults at levels 2 and 3 not being removable from the workbench, and the Farmstead can now handle more beehives. Fixed a dungeon chest that could fail to spawn and slightly reduced enemy counts in the Plains and Forest Challenge Dungeons. Pyzifax now gets stunned after spinning, and Ceres Magi now have an attack. |
0.25.1_9 | June 3, 2026 | Added a Player Graves recovery system: invalid grave markers are removed on connect, an inaccessible grave can be moved to the start of its dungeon, and a lost gravestone is recreated at the world spawn point when the world reloads. Citizens now teleport home if they get stuck, can be walked through after two seconds, and Carpenters reach construction sites better with a 90-tile range. Trade routes no longer use a starving citizen as a carrier. Gates close faster and auto-open for players carrying items. Fixed entry to the Cure of Robigus dungeon and a pit in a volcano dungeon. |
0.25.1_8 | June 2, 2026 | Fixed a Depth-of-Field issue in the Temple of Vulcan and the piercing-damage icon; removed negative-only traits from existing citizens; fixed gates not auto-opening for players carrying items; fixed entry to the Cure of Robigus dungeon. This build was reverted the same day because it introduced dungeon problems, and its fixes returned in 0.25.1_9. |
0.25.1_7 | June 1, 2026 | The Logistics Tent is now a reward for defeating the Guardian of Minerva, putting town automation earlier in the game. Negative traits now appear only on citizens that also have positive traits, and the eat-until-full bug was fixed. Gates open and close automatically for players and carts, material-storage capacity was increased, and a Trading Post crash was fixed. Fixed swapped damage numbers on the Flamines Vulcanalis Bow, let the Flamines Volcanalis Armour roll modifiers when crafted, and fixed Tectonic armour rolling the wrong modifiers. |
0.25.1_6 | May 30, 2026 | Carpenter-built walls can no longer be damaged by players (walls already built are unaffected); fixed completed-quest rewards that could not be claimed; quests tweaked so the Watermill and Clay Pit unlock earlier; increased metal-thread stack sizes. |

0.25.1_2 | May 27, 2026 | Numpad now works when splitting stacks; fixed graphical lines over players, animals, and water; increased character-name length from 16 to 32; decreased early-game citizen hunger; spears can now harvest crops; made the Fortified Maze dungeon easier to clear for quest items; the Guardian of Minerva and Great Phoenix of Arabia fights now reset immediately if you die; reduced boar and rat aggro range and boar spawn rate; fixed a Medusa-related crash. |
