Destined Flower Seeds Challenge
The Destined Flower Seeds (命定花种) activity does not add new spirits to the dex. Instead, it features four existing spirits as fixed challenge encounters, each tied to a specific nature requirement. Clearing all four first-time rewards grants Soul Imprints and Light Prism Crystals.

April 13, 2026: Letter to Little Rocos
On April 13, 2026, the development team published an open letter titled A Letter to Little Rocos (致小洛克的一封信). The letter acknowledged three live-service issues that the community had escalated and committed the team to specific remedies in the following week's patch.
Issues Addressed
Water-domain continuous capture anomaly: A bug in the water biome pools was allowing infinite back-to-back catches on certain spirits, skewing shiny rate distribution. The team confirmed the fix would ship with the April 16 update.
Item production pain points: Players had raised complaints about Gulu Ball crafting costs, weekend merchant prices, and synthesis recipes that required both crops and Roco Shells. The team committed to an economy rebalance.
Destined Flower Seeds rotation confusion: The first rotation caused confusion about which spirits to challenge in which order. A second rotation was announced with clearer UI prompts.
Announced Compensation
The letter previewed that the April 16 update would mail every account a shiny Twin-Light Fish egg (异色双灯鱼的蛋) plus a self-select egg containing one of the eight S1 chance-encounter shiny spirits. Both rewards were confirmed during the April 16 patch window.
April 16, 2026 Update: Magic Renewal
Branded internally as Magic Renewal (魔法焕新), the April 16 update is the largest balance patch since launch. It shipped through a non-stop hot update at 06:00 server time and required a client restart to apply. The patch cut Gulu Ball costs and crafting requirements sharply, buffed recall multipliers for rare spirits, added four new events, and sent the global compensation mail previewed in the April 13 letter.
Global Compensation
Every player received a mail containing one shiny Twin-Light Fish (异色双灯鱼) egg and one self-select S1 chance-encounter shiny spirit egg. The self-select egg requires Mage Level 20 to open.
Gulu Ball Cost Reductions
Change | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
Advanced Gulu Ball price at Annie Shop | 15,000 Roco Shells | 12,000 Roco Shells |
Weekend Traveling Merchant condition balls | 7,500 Roco Shells each | 3,000 Roco Shells each |
Condition Ball synthesis recipe (Photosynthesis Ball, Temperature Ball, and seven other condition balls) | 1 Normal Gulu Ball plus 2 crops plus Roco Shells | 1 Normal Gulu Ball plus 1 crop (no Roco Shells) |
Recall Multiplier Buffs
Players who recall (retire) Pollution Bloodline or shiny spirits in the Spirit Box now receive significantly larger material refunds. These multipliers apply to all eligible spirits, not just those caught after the patch.
Recall Category | Previous Multiplier | New Multiplier |
|---|---|---|
Pollution Bloodline spirits | 3x | 5x |
Iridescent spirits and shiny spirits | 3x | 10x |
New Combat Feature: Shiny Alert
After a Nightmare Shackles shield is broken, if the revealed spirit is shiny the game now displays a top-right prompt for two seconds and overlays a shiny icon above the spirit's head. This closes a long-standing visibility gap where players could miss shiny rolls during fast combat rotations.
Time-Limited Events (April 16)
Event | Dates | Summary |
|---|---|---|
Starlight Roaming (星光漫游) | April 17 04:00 to May 6 | Mage Lv 30, Spirit Researcher rank. Visit Starlight Leisure Park in the open world for weekly login rewards including Advanced Gulu Balls, Sage Crystal Fragments, Ability Keys, and Prism Balls. Daily flower seed challenges grant Light Prism Crystals. |

Mechanical Cube Outbreak (机械方方大量出没) | April 17 to April 20 | Boosted wild Mechanical Cube spawns with a chance at the shiny variant. |

Anti-Cheat Enforcement
The patch notes explicitly called out stricter enforcement against third-party scripts and automation tools, including account-level bans for confirmed offenders. Players should avoid any tool that automates capture, movement, or combat.
May 7, 2026 Update
The May 7 update opened the fourth Destined Flower Seeds rotation with four new featured spirits, refreshed the Pica Photo Commission cycle, and added several weekend windows tied to the new event spirits. No core combat systems changed in this patch; the focus was time-limited content slotting into the closing weeks of Season 1: Dark Night Collecting Light.
Destined Flower Seeds Period 4

Period 4 introduces four new featured spirits as fixed challenge encounters. The event window runs from May 8, 2026 04:00 to May 21, 2026 04:00 and requires Magic Level 40 plus Spirit Scholar rank.
Featured Spirit | Chinese | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Magic Grass Warlock | 魔草巫灵 | First Period 4 boss. Personality-locked first-clear drop. |
Gorgeous Flower | 奇丽花 | Distinct from the wild Gorgeous Grass (奇丽草) outbreak species. |
Stilt Wader | 高脚鹬 | Bird-line encounter; multiple counter spirits viable at level 60 zero-star. |
Magic Beloved Bird | 魔眷鸟 | Fourth Period 4 boss. Multi-branch evolution counters unlock all branch rewards from a single clear. |
Clearing all four bosses in Period 4 yields up to 2,800 Light Prism Crystals depending on routing, plus Soul Imprints and personality-locked spirit drops on first-time completion. Using a colored ball (炫彩球) locks an excellent personality trait on the captured spirit reward.

Alchemy Potion bundle: The April 24 cosmetic release closed its purchase window on May 8.
Oath Holy Knight Remembrance: Limited cosmetic bundle returned to the store rotation.
Notes (May 7)
The May 7 patch did not adjust the Light-Collecting Pass, Gulu Balls costs, or Combat System mechanics. Players still on the closing weeks of Season 1 should plan around the May 21 04:00 cutoff, when season-exclusive spirits, shiny variants, and the Season Pass and Monetization reward track close.
May 21, 2026 Update: Season 2 "Carnival Strange Tales"
Season 2, titled Carnival Strange Tales (狂欢怪谈), launches at 04:00 on May 21, 2026, immediately replacing Season 1 (Dark Night Collecting Light). The new season runs for approximately two months until mid-July 2026 and uses a circus carnival aesthetic with a red-and-black color theme for its variant forms. The new content was officially revealed in the S2 PV on May 14 and detailed in the version-update announcement posted on the official forum on May 15.
New Spirits (S2)
Season 2 adds eleven new spirits across three obtain tiers. All eleven are listed below; names are presented with their confirmed Chinese name plus the most common English rendering. As of launch some English names remain provisional until in-game text is finalized. The spirit names, tiers, and signature-ability details below come from the official pre-launch reveal for this season and should be treated as provisional until confirmed against the live version 1.01 build.
Spirit | Chinese | Tier | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
Mechanical Curtain Ark | 机幕方舟 | Free Legendary | Season 2 free legendary spirit. Three-stage evolution. Mechanical type. Its signature passive grants "assembly" layers when allies use mechanical-type skills; at three layers, every ally skill on the team shifts one slot down, allowing the main DPS to act twice on the same turn. Obtained free through the Season 2 main story chapter. |
Snow Monster | 雪怪 | Pass Spirit | Selectable Season 2 Light-Collecting Pass spirit. Ice-related ability "Snow Messenger" applies five freeze stacks to the opponent after two ice skills are used in a battle. |
Blaze Sprayer | 爆焰喷喷 | Pass Spirit | Selectable Season 2 Light-Collecting Pass spirit. Fire-related ability applies ten burn stacks after two fire skills are used in a battle. |
Firework Duke | 烟花伯爵 | Encounter | Season 2 encounter spirit. Fire-aligned. Converts diminishing burn damage to poison damage while on the field. |
Thunder Didi | 霹雳迪迪 | Encounter | Season 2 encounter spirit. Electric or rock theme based on PV reveal. |
Disc Howler | 音碟吼 | Encounter | Season 2 encounter spirit with a phonograph or sound-disc design motif. |
Giant Drum Elephant | 巨鼓象 | Encounter | Season 2 encounter spirit with a drum-themed circus design. |
Fox-Faced Scrubber | 狐脸擦擦 | Encounter | Season 2 encounter spirit with a fox-mask circus performer design. |
Good Hat Hat | 咕德帽帽 | Encounter | Season 2 encounter spirit with a magic-hat themed design. |
Dapper Puppet | 帅帅魔偶 | Encounter | Season 2 encounter spirit, a marionette-styled illusion-type creature. |
Clown Duke | 小丑公爵 | Encounter | Season 2 encounter spirit, jester-themed. |
New Variant Forms (S2)
Season 2 ships with eighteen total variant (异色) forms split between newly-introduced season-exclusive recolors and the seasonal return of Season 1 alternates. The S2 variant theme is a red-and-black circus color palette applied across the new spirit roster and select returning shinies. The variant capture mechanic is updated this season: the previous "corrupted" outcome from Nightmare Shackles is now reframed as a "Lucky Surprise Box" reward branch when the consecutive-capture chain breaks, with the same approximate variant odds but more cosmetic and material reward variety. See Shiny and Variant Spirits for the full mechanic.
New Items (S2)
Two new capture and redemption items launch alongside Season 2.
Item | Chinese | Use |
|---|---|---|
Dazzle Ball | 炫彩球 | New Season 2 premium capture ball. Increases the chance of triggering a variant form during a successful capture, replacing the role the Prism Ball played in Season 1 for chromatic capture. |
Circus Memorial Ball | 马戏团纪念球 | Cosmetic-exchange currency item awarded by the Season 2 carnival event track. Redeemed at the Season 2 hall for limited furniture, titles, and avatar items. |
Type Rebalances (S2)
Three element families receive across-the-board enhancements at the start of Season 2. Specific per-move stat shifts will be detailed once the patch's full balance table is published, but the developer-stated targets are:
Martial type (武系) : higher physical-skill base power and improved survivability against psychic and illusion families.
Illusion type (幻系) : new utility effects on key skills, mainly around field disruption and morale manipulation.
Demon type (恶魔系) : recovery and lifesteal pass improvements that make demon-led teams more viable in long PvE fights.
Environmental refresh mechanics also receive a tuning pass. Field cycles tied to PvP encounters are intended to rotate more often, opening up more dynamic counterplay during the Radiant Competition window.
Story Event: Wisdom Press
Season 2's headline story event casts the player as a Wisdom Press (智慧出版社) intern reporter investigating circus-themed mysteries. Each chapter unlocks a clue, and publishing the assembled story yields a Kingdom Ball, 500,000 Roco-coin, and an exclusive Season 2 title. The story requires Magic Level 20+ (Apprentice Magician rank) to begin and runs for the duration of the season.
Notes (May 21)
As of the May 21 launch, Season 1 content is sunset; remaining Season 1 currencies should be spent before the season-end mail goes out. The new Light-Collecting Pass Season 2 track replaces the Season 1 pass tier with the same two-spirit selection model. The Wandering Merchant rotation and Pica Photo Commission cycles continue uninterrupted across the season transition.
May 22 to 23 Post-Launch Follow-Up
In the first 48 hours after the Season 2 launch, the development team published two community communications addressing player feedback on art changes that had shipped alongside version 1.101. The first communication walked back several model and animation adjustments that had been introduced through what the team described as non-standard internal processes. Adjustments tied to model-clipping fixes were kept because those changes resolved a separate visual bug; other art adjustments were reverted to their previous shipped state.
For specific female-protagonist victory and defeat animations in PvE and PvP, the team committed to expose a player-side customization option so each player can choose between the new and previous animations rather than the change being applied globally. The team also reaffirmed its community-standards and topic-moderation commitments as part of the same follow-up.
Season 1 Optimization Pass (Rolled Out With Season 2)
Alongside the apology, the same communication confirmed a polish pass on three Season 1: Dark Night Collecting Light systems that had drawn the most player feedback during the closing weeks of the season. These changes are live as of the Season 2 update and persist into Season 2:
Spirit Echo range expansion. The radius and per-cycle stack count of the Spirit Echo (精灵回响) cultivation mechanic were both increased, so a single echo cycle now contributes more raw material per run.
Realm Trial core-reward threshold reduction. The score threshold required to unlock the per-tier core rewards inside Territory Trial (also referenced as Realm Trial in CN sources) was lowered so the headline rewards are reachable from a wider competence band, not just from optimized PvE teams.
Cultivation material acquisition improvements. Several non-shiny cultivation material drops were increased in their primary spawn rotations, reducing the grind required to lift a non-meta spirit from base to its first competitive form.
These three changes were originally framed as "post-Season 1 follow-up" but are live in the version 1.101 build, which means they apply to ongoing Season 2 cultivation as well. Players who had paused Spirit Echo or Realm Trial grinding during the Season 1 wind-down should re-evaluate after the update.
Season 2 Update Compensation
The same communication confirmed a compensation package for the version 1.101 maintenance window. Players who had created an account, reached Magic Level 20 or higher, and updated to version 1.101 before 24:00 on May 24, 2026 received 300 Light Prism Crystals (分光晶), one Season 2 seasonal-shiny spirit egg, and 10 Wish Stars (许愿星) through the in-game mail system. The mailing window was a one-shot delivery tied to the update flag, not an event that can be claimed retroactively.
Upcoming Updates
The development team has confirmed an update cadence of a new season every two months and a major world update every six months. Two future milestones were publicly confirmed alongside the April 2 co-creation announcement.
Version 1.01 (Late May 2026): New Season

S1 shiny spirits lock out: The eight season-limited shiny spirits from Dark Night Collecting Light will close their wild capture channels at the season swap. The team has indicated possible future returns through breeding and other methods, but no dates have been given.
New season-exclusive activities and refreshed pass tracks will launch with the version.
Version 1.10 (Mid-July 2026): Major World Expansion
World map expansion opens new regions on the Kaluoxi'a Continent.
Main story update advances the seven-chapter narrative.
