Overview

Venonat is a Bug/Poison-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Insect Pokemon (Dex #019). Its large eyes act as radar, and in a bright place, you can see that they are actually clusters of many tiny eyes. Venonat has the Search specialty, making it useful for locating hidden Lost Relics, Music CDs, and Mysterious Slates buried beneath the surface.

Habitat

Venonat can appear in two different habitats:

Both the Illuminated Tall Grass (#007) and Illuminated Bench (#023) are habitats that require a bright light source placed near tall grass or a bench. Venonat spawns as a Common Pokemon at both, making it easy to recruit. These habitats also attract Venomoth at a Rare rarity.

Location

Venonat is found in Withered Wasteland. The illuminated habitats it favors require the Brightness System, which involves placing light-emitting objects like Mushroom Lamps or Streetlights near habitats to create the "illuminated" condition.

How to Befriend

Build either the Illuminated Tall Grass or Illuminated Bench habitat by placing a light source next to the appropriate base habitat. Venonat will appear as a Common visitor. Interact with it to receive a befriending request, then complete the request. The Brightness System is key to building these habitats: craft Mushroom Lamps or use other light sources to illuminate the area.

Specialty: Search

Venonat has the Search specialty. Walk around with Venonat, and its large radar-like eyes will help detect hidden Lost Relics, Music CDs, and Mysterious Slates buried underground. When Venonat senses something, it will alert you with a visual reaction. Dig at the spot to collect the hidden item.

Preferences

Venonat thrives in bright environments, which aligns perfectly with its illuminated habitats. Place reading materials, signs with letters, and complicated mechanical items near its habitat to match its unusual taste for "Letters and words" and "Complicated stuff." Use the Brightness System to keep the area well-lit.

Evolution

Venonat evolves into Venomoth. Venomoth retains the Search specialty and shares the same habitats but at a Rare rarity level.
