Version 1.4, titled "For Whom the Verses Mourn", is the fourth major post-launch update for Neverness to Everness. The official channel dates the global launch to September 30, 2026 and names two new limited S-Class characters, Blackbird and Akane Rin. The version was previewed in a Preview Special Program on September 16, 2026 at 19:30 (UTC+8) on the official YouTube and Twitch channels, and a version PV followed on September 17. The Chinese server receives the same update on September 24, 2026, six days ahead of global, which is the gap every previous version has kept.
As of September 21, 2026 no English patch note has been published. The confirmed global facts are the title, the date and the two characters. Everything below the next heading comes from the Chinese-server recap of the preview broadcast, which is first-party but published only as images and only in Chinese, so English names are given where the game already uses them and left in Chinese otherwise. Expect the global patch note on or shortly before September 30 to settle the English names and the global event windows.

Blackbird's recap card marks her with three role icons (instant Esper Cycle trigger, main damage and damage buff) and lists Xanthe Huynh as her English voice; Akane Rin is marked as main damage with Cristina Vee as her English voice. The recap also shows a Lacrimosa rerun board, 「久梦初醒时」, in the first phase, and three Arc Research Programs: 「栖羽特刊」 for Blackbird's Arc 「罪与罚」 and a "Nocturne Special" rerun of The Last Rose in the first phase, then 「日月星特刊」 for Akane Rin's Arc 「月的对跖点」 in the second. Vehicles and the Porsche Club
Two new Porsche models join the Porsche Collaboration: a Porsche 911 Turbo (930) and a Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package, both obtained through a Mystery Box event rather than a dealership. Owning three Porsche vehicles unlocks a "Porsche Club" that grants the classic "SALZBURG" livery along with a furniture piece, a name card, a phone case, a phone wallpaper and a title. Global windows are expected to sit six days after each Chinese-server date, but none has been announced for the global client yet.
Cosmetics
Blackbird receives three outfits (one sold in the shop, one on her board's Skin Perks track and one at Bond Lvl 10) and Akane Rin five (two in the shop, one on her board, one given as a 「噗卡游园季」 gift after the second-phase maintenance and one at Bond Lvl 10). Further outfits for Haniel, Hotori and Baicang come through a new City Tycoon reward track, 「噗卡计划」, which also pays two S-Class standard character selectors, an S-Class Arc selector, accessories, dice styles, a name card and a title across levels 11 to 45. Seven new accessories were shown, sold for Fons, earned from the Tycoon track, exchanged in Pukaland or unlocked by achievement.
Login and Compensation Gifts
The recap shows a seven-day login gift of dice and a 「噗卡游园季」 special gift split across the two phases: Fabricated Dice x10 and an avatar frame after the first-phase update, then Fons x2,000,000 and Akane Rin's 「吧台特调」 outfit after the second-phase maintenance. The Chinese-server preview broadcast also issued three redeem codes that expired on September 20, 2026; see Redeem Codes.
Quality-of-Life Changes
Volley Star gains online multiplayer.
Drone mode in Photo Mode gains a follow-shot function.
Going, Going, Gone! adds new collectible categories and Blackbird as a bidding helper.
The friends system gains a friend recommendation feature.
Bond gifting gains a one-click option that lets you exchange for or buy the "A Handwritten Letter" item directly.
The Character screen plays a character's first-meeting animation.
Collaborations
The recap announces two Chinese-market tie-ins: a convenience-store food collaboration opening on October 5, 2026 and a chewing-gum brand collaboration with limited products. Neither has been announced for the global client.
