Overview
Fons is the primary city currency in Neverness to Everness, used to fund nearly every aspect of life in Hethereau. While other currencies like Beetle Coins handle everyday shop transactions and Annulith powers the gacha system, Fons is the currency that drives the City Tycoon economy. It is earned through city activities and spent on property, vehicles, businesses, furniture, cosmetics, and endgame upgrade materials.
Fons circulates through a self-contained economic loop. Players earn Fons by participating in side activities and mini-games around the city, then reinvest those earnings into businesses that generate more Fons over time. The system is gated by City Stamina, which resets weekly and limits how much Fons you can earn in a given period. Understanding how to earn and spend Fons efficiently is essential for progressing through the City Tycoon ranks and building a comfortable life in Hethereau.
How to Earn Fons
Fons can be earned through a wide range of city activities. Most of these fall under the City Tycoon umbrella and become available as your City Tycoon level increases. All Fons-earning activities consume City Stamina when they provide rewards, so planning which activities to prioritize each week matters.
Side Activities
Activity | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
Outdoor | Catch fish at various spots around Hethereau. Fish can be sold directly to vendors for Fons or used as ingredients in cooking and restaurant operations. | |
Competition | Race through the city streets against NPCs or other players. Completing races awards Fons based on finishing position. | |
Table Game | Play full tile-based mahjong against NPCs or other players. Winning hands earn Fons rewards, with higher-scoring hands paying more. | |
Music | Hit notes in time with the music. Higher accuracy scores yield better Fons payouts. | |
Work | Pick up and drop off NPC passengers at their requested destinations around the city. Fons are earned per completed fare. | |
Work | Take on various short-term jobs around Hethereau for Fons income. Job types and payouts vary. | |
Delivery | Work | Transport packages between locations within time limits. Faster deliveries may result in bonus Fons. |
Business Operations
The Business Management system within City Tycoon allows players to run their own stores and earn Fons through revenue. The coffee shop is one of the first businesses available, where you prepare and serve drinks to customers. Restaurants follow a similar structure but involve more complex menu management. In both cases, Fons are spent on ingredients and supplies, and the goal is to earn more in sales than you spend on restocking.
Setting prices, running promotions, and managing inventory all affect your profit margins. Character bonuses can also improve business performance. For example, Skia's Life Skill increases dish prices and boosts customer patience at the restaurant, directly improving revenue per shift.
Endgame Fons Sources
At higher progression levels, Fons can also be earned from endgame activities:
Source | Description |
|---|---|
An endgame activity that involves tracking and eliminating targets connected to The Circle organization. | |
A resource-gathering activity that provides Fons alongside other progression materials. | |
Difficult commissions with elevated Fons rewards. |
The developers acknowledged during beta testing that Fons earn rates from endgame sources felt low, and confirmed that adjustments would be made for the official launch.
What Fons Can Buy
Fons is accepted across many systems in the game. It covers both quality-of-life purchases and progression-critical investments.
Category | Examples | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Cars, motorcycles | Purchased through the Garage, unlocked via City Tycoon. Vehicles can also be customized with parts, paint, and decals using Fons. | |
Apartments, mansions, seaside suites | Properties are purchased through the Property Manager. Higher-end homes cost significantly more Fons. | |
Furniture | Decorations, appliances, collectibles | Used to decorate owned properties. Premium furniture pieces carry higher Fons price tags. |
Business Supplies | Ingredients, inventory | Required to run coffee shops and restaurants. Spending Fons on ingredients is necessary to keep businesses operational and earning revenue. |
Cosmetics | Character skins, costumes | Many skins and costumes for the protagonist and other characters can be purchased with Fons. Some cosmetics are Fons-exclusive, while others require premium currency. |
Endgame Materials | Upgrade resources | Fons can be spent on character upgrade materials and progression resources at endgame vendors. |
City Stamina and Weekly Limits
Fons earnings are governed by City Stamina, a resource that is separate from the Character Pixels stamina used for combat progression. City Stamina resets once per week, and nearly all Fons-earning activities consume it when they provide rewards.
When your City Stamina is depleted, you can still participate in activities like fishing, mahjong, racing, and other mini-games freely. The activities remain fully playable; they simply stop awarding Fons and other material rewards until the weekly reset replenishes your City Stamina. There is no hard lockout from any content.
This design means that early in each week, you have a full budget of City Stamina to allocate across whichever Fons-earning activities you prefer. Planning which activities to prioritize helps maximize your weekly Fons income. Spreading your stamina across multiple activities is a solid approach, but focusing on whatever you find most enjoyable is equally valid since the earn rates across activities are broadly comparable.
Fons vs. Other Currencies
Neverness to Everness uses a multi-currency economy. Fons occupies a specific niche within that system, distinct from the other currencies players encounter.
Beetle Coins are the general-purpose free currency used for everyday vendor purchases, consumables, and materials. They circulate in much larger quantities than Fons.
Annulith is the premium currency that converts into Solid Dice and Fabricated Dice for the gacha system. It has no overlap with Fons.
Fons specifically fuels the City Tycoon ecosystem: property, vehicles, businesses, furniture, cosmetics, and endgame material purchases.
There is no direct conversion between Fons and Beetle Coins or Annulith. Each currency exists within its own progression track, though Fons and Beetle Coins are both earned through gameplay without spending real money.
Tips
Spend your City Stamina early each week. Unspent City Stamina does not carry over, so leaving it unused means lost Fons.
Reinvest Fons into businesses as soon as they become available. Business revenue creates a compounding loop where early investment leads to higher passive earnings over time.
Mix activities to avoid burnout. Fishing, racing, and mahjong all provide Fons, so rotate between them to keep things fresh.
Assign Espers with Life Skills that boost business performance. Characters like Skia have passive bonuses that directly increase your Fons income from restaurant operations.
Do not neglect endgame Fons sources. Activities like Circle Bounty and commissions provide steady daily Fons income that adds up significantly over time.
Pre-registration rewards include 3,000 Fons. Claim them from your mailbox after logging in for the first time to get a head start on City Tycoon investments.
