Launch Roadmap
September 21, 2026 at 11:03 AM
Confirmed the September 9 Version 1.3 Phase 2 rollout, replaced the Version 1.4 placeholder with the September 16 preview program and September 30 launch date, and fixed the stale Epic Games Store status
The official Neverness to Everness launch roadmap was published on February 26, 2026, alongside the release date announcement. The roadmap details all planned improvements between the Co-Ex Test beta and the April 29 global launch. Hotta Studio was notably transparent about the game's shortcomings during testing, organizing the roadmap across multiple categories with specific commitments for each area. The developers also stated that some major upcoming features were being kept hidden and would be revealed through future shows and streams rather than the roadmap itself.
The roadmap prioritizes addressing performance issues identified across all platforms during beta testing:

Overall performance and stability improvements on PC, PlayStation 5, and mobile platforms
General bug fixes across all systems
Cross-device stability improvements
PC and mobile optimization as top priorities
Smoother new player onboarding experience
NTE is receiving significant graphical upgrades for its official launch, leveraging the latest rendering technology:

The vehicle system is receiving attention across all platforms:
Improved driving feel across all platforms (driving was noted as stiff during beta)
Driving UI polish
Expanded car variety with new vehicle models
Improved car camera behavior (beta had aggressive camera sensitivity without adjustment options)
Enhanced Traffic AI with NPCs actively driving diverse vehicles to create realistic urban traffic flow
The housing system is receiving quality of life improvements:

Improved controls for decoration
Increased interactions available within housing
Hethereau Hobbies are getting expanded with new features and quality of life fixes:

A new photo mode is being added with additional effects and overall system polish. This complements the existing drone photography system introduced during the Co-Ex Test.
Aurelia (A-Class), previously known as Mitsuki during beta testing, is confirmed as a new character for the launch window. She is described as an ex-band member. The free A-Class character Haniel is also available through pre-registration if the 30 million milestone is reached.
The developers explicitly stated that they are keeping major upcoming features hidden, preferring to show them through future streams and reveal events rather than including them in the roadmap. This suggests that additional content, characters, and game modes beyond what is listed here will be revealed closer to or after launch.
For context on the improvements, here is how the game evolved across its testing phases:

Chinese CBT1 | November 2024 | PC, Mobile | Initial story content, basic driving, core combat |
Containment Test (CBT2) | July 3-16, 2025 | PC only | Combat overhaul (Parry Attack, Critical Dodge), DLSS 4, expanded world |
Co-Ex Test (CBT3) | February 6-20, 2026 | PC, PS5, iOS, Android | Multi-platform, prison system, drone flying, mini-games, vehicle customization |
The Mainland China version of Neverness to Everness (titled 异环) went live on April 23, 2026 under the publishing of Perfect World Games and the development of Hotta Studio. The CN launch arrived on the calendar date announced on February 26 alongside this roadmap and served as the practical delivery check for every roadmap commitment listed above. Pre-download on the CN client opened on April 21, 2026 at 09:00 UTC+8, approximately 50 hours before servers opened, and the full install fit inside the 45 GB figure published as the minimum storage requirement.
Items flagged on the CN launch client and confirmed by in-game observation include the Unreal Engine 5.7 upgrade with Lumen ghosting fixes, NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi-Frame Generation, the full Awakening interface overhaul, the expanded vehicle roster with cars, motorcycles, and novelty rides, the Pink Paws Heist three-player co-op activity in friends-only and matchmaking modes, the Mahjong and Street Racing AI opponents for off-peak play, and the City Stamina pool running independently of the Anomaly combat stamina pool.
The global launch build uses the same 1.0 content patch as the CN version with locale and pre-registration differences. Cross-platform features confirmed live at CN launch carry across to the global release. Pre-download for the global client opens on April 27, 2026 at 10:00 UTC+8 under the same 45 GB envelope. The global client adds English, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Spanish, and Russian alongside the Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese locales that the CN client ships with, and voice-over options include English, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.
Steam Launch (July 2026). Hotta Studio and Perfect World Games confirmed a Steam release alongside the Version 1.1 Special Program. The Steam store page is live with App ID 4508340 and lists a July 2026 release window. The Steam build is Free to Play with in-app purchases and runs on Windows 10 64-bit only. The existing Hotta Studio launcher, App Store, Google Play, TapTap, and PlayStation Store continue to operate alongside Steam. Cross-progression carries over from the existing PC client.
Epic Games Store (July 2026). An Epic Games Store page went live on May 23, 2026 listed as Coming Soon, and the Epic build released alongside the Steam version on July 8, 2026. Like Steam, Epic is a storefront expansion on top of the existing global launch and does not replace any current channel.
Samsung Galaxy Store and GeForce NOW. The Version 1.1 Special Program also confirmed two additional post-launch distribution channels: the Samsung Galaxy Store for Galaxy device users, and GeForce NOW for cloud streaming. Specific availability dates for these channels were not announced.
The Version 1.1 update introduces two new S-Class characters, Lacrimosa (Chaos element, Phase 1 banner) and Chaos (Chaos element, Phase 2 banner around June 24), a new Dream Corridor map area, a Porsche collaboration vehicle, a Persona 5 music collaboration, the Patrol Cleanup Plan daily activity, and quality-of-life improvements carried over from the May 21 hotfix.
Version 1.2 "999 Nights" shipped on July 8, 2026, the same day the game launched on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Samsung Galaxy Store. It added the Cosmos S-Class Esper Shinku and the Anima S-Class healer Iroi (July 29), a new main story episode ("Fighting with a Dragon") and the Warren Continent region, the 999 Nights event and mini-game, the Neon Rift Mystery Box with the Draco vehicle, and a broad set of quality-of-life improvements.
Version 1.3 "Rising from the Moonlit Fog" was previewed in a Special Program on August 8, 2026 at 19:30 (UTC+8) and shipped on August 19, 2026 after a maintenance window from 06:00 to 11:00 (UTC+8). Version 1.2 Phase 2 (July 29) had added the S-Class healer Iroi ahead of the broadcast. The update is now live, so the roadmap items below are shipped content rather than plans.
Phase 1 opened the "Alluring Shadows" Limited Board featuring the limited S-Class Esper Zankou and her signature Arc Ravenous Blade, running from August 19 to September 9 at 05:59 (UTC+8), with a Nanally rerun on "The Ichi-daime" board and the returning Arc Ready-Ready over the same window.
Roadmap Item | Status at Version 1.3 | Detail |
|---|---|---|
New playable Esper | Shipped Aug 19 | Zankou, a limited S-Class Incantation Esper and a former member of The Scarlet Letter. She takes the playable roster to 21. |
New main story episode | Shipped Aug 19 | Fogden Game, unlocked by clearing the Version 1.2 episode "Fighting with a Dragon". See Main Story. |
New location | Shipped Aug 19 | Duskmoor, holding the Starfall Bay Resort and the open waters of Tearlake, plus six new Anomaly Commissions. |
First watercraft | Shipped Aug 19 | The Tide, summonable in ocean and lake areas and obtained from the "Lucent Tides" Mystery Box event rather than a dealership. |
New vehicle | Shipped Aug 19 | The Sirocco off-road buggy, Fons x4,000,000 at the TerraX dealership. See Vehicles. |
Housing expansion | Shipped Aug 19 | Stillmeadow House, Fons x6,900,000 at City Tycoon Lvl 13, with sellable crops. |
Hobby expansion | Shipped Aug 19 | Volley Star joined Hethereau Hobbies alongside Going, Going, Gone! and Shadow-n-Seek, which both became permanent activities. |
Endgame expansion | Shipped Aug 19 | Gauntlet of Valor was added to 999 Nights, reached from the Warren Continent. A "Hunter's Crucible" event added challenge stages for Mammon and Morphix. |
Photo Mode expansion | Shipped Aug 19 | Photo Mode can now be used while driving or swimming, and a PC-only F7 shortcut hides the in-game UI in one press. |
The second phase went live on September 9, 2026 after a maintenance window (06:00 to 11:00 UTC+8), exactly as the broadcast had trailed: the new S-Class Anima Esper Linko debuted on the "Surfing All Channels!" board with her Arc Voice of the Voyager in the "Soundscape Special" program, and Hotori returned on "Misty Tipsy Style" alongside a "Bright Moon Special" rerun of Marching Beyond Time. All four run to September 30, 2026 at 05:59 (UTC+8). The same patch shipped the Yesteryear bicycle, the Runaway Echoes and Breezy Tour events, the Brick by Brick mini-game, four new Races - Friends tracks and two new 999 Nights equipment sets; the full list is on Patch Notes.
Version 1.4 was previewed in a Special Program on September 16, 2026 at 19:30 (UTC+8), and the official channel dates the update to September 30, 2026 with two new limited S-Class characters, Blackbird and Akane Rin. The Chinese-server recap of the broadcast lists the rest of the slate: the Pukaland amusement park in the southern part of the New Herland District, a new Location Anomaly, a new main story chapter and a band-themed side story, new Anomaly Commissions, two Porsche vehicles with a Porsche Club unlock, and a set of limited events. The Chinese server takes the update on September 24, six days ahead of global, which matches the gap on every previous version.
The September 30 date and the two characters are first-party for the global client. Everything more detailed than that comes from the Chinese-server recap, so English names for the new areas, Arcs, boards and events are pending until the global patch note publishes; the running list is kept on Version 1.4 Update and the board schedule on Version 1.4 Banners.
