Apprentice Pathway
September 13, 2026 at 10:10 PM
Refresh against the official Apprentice guide revised 2026-08-27: bracket-level talent recommendations (闪袭 for PvE, 12v12 and GvG; 巡星 for 3v3 and 6v6), current skill lists including 记录, current sealed artifacts (黄昏面具, 月亮纸人, 许愿神灯, 丧钟, 深红月冕), the class tagline, and a note that the guide labels its PvP artifact block PvE. Records that 正义钱包, 幸运草, 星云咏叹 and 再现 are not in the current guide.

The Apprentice Pathway (学徒) is the Sequence 9 entry rank of the line headed by the Door (门). It is one of the six Pathways playable in Lord of Mysteries from the Mainland China launch on August 21, 2026.
The game states the role directly: 定位:近战法系刺客型职业,具有高爆发、高机动性特点。学徒生存能力较弱,但可以通过多样的位移手段黏住目标 (a melee magic assassin-type class with high burst and high mobility; survivability is weak, but a wide set of displacement tools lets it stay glued to a target). Its listed features are 位移 (displacement) and 传送 (teleport).
It sits on the magic side of the game's damage split, in 魔法途径 alongside the Spectator and the Mystery Pryer, so Wisdom (智慧) rather than Strength (力量) drives its bonus skill enhancement.
Pre-launch guidance rated the Apprentice the hardest of the six to control, which matches a kit that trades survivability for repositioning.
Every launch Pathway carries two freely switchable talents (双天赋). The Apprentice's pair is 闪袭 (Flash Raid) and 巡星 (Star Patrol), and it splits between standing still to burst and moving constantly. The class tagline reads 穿梭灵界,漫游星空,以群星之力支配空间 (shuttle through the spirit world, roam the starry sky, command space with the power of the stars).
Talent | CN | Build it anchors | Where the official guide recommends it |
|---|---|---|---|
Flash Raid | 闪袭 | 定点输出, stationary damage in PvE; 群体输出, area damage in PvP | All PvE, plus 12v12 and GvG |
Star Patrol | 巡星 | 移动作战, mobile combat in PvE; 单体收割, single-target reaping in PvP | 3v3 and 6v6 |
The skills and sealed artifacts below are taken from the studio's own Apprentice guide, revised on August 27, 2026.
Context | Talent | Skills | Attack artifact | Defence artifact | Universal artifact |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Wishing Lamp |
Crimson Moon Crown |
Crimson Moon Crown |
Two cautions about that table. The guide publishes a PvE skill list only for 闪袭, so the 巡星 skills above are its PvP list, not a PvE one. And the second sealed-artifact block, the one giving 丧钟, 月亮纸人 and 深红月冕, sits inside the guide's PvP section but is itself headed 封印物推荐 for PvE, so the label and the placement disagree. It is read here as the PvP set because of where it sits.
An earlier version of this article recorded 丧钟 (Death Knell), 正义钱包 (Justice's Wallet) and 幸运草 (Lucky Clover) as a single set used in all four builds, and listed two further skills, 星云咏叹 (Nebula Aria) and 再现 (Reprise), in place of 记录. None of 正义钱包, 幸运草, 星云咏叹 or 再现 appears in the current Apprentice guide, and 丧钟 now appears only on the PvP side.
Community accounts of the launch build describe a signature 残影 (Afterimage) effect on the Apprentice: chaining several uninterrupted blinks in quick succession leaves afterimages behind, up to five at once, each copying the damage of the attack or skill cast at the moment of the blink. Reports differ on the exact timing window required, so the threshold is best treated as unconfirmed until the studio publishes it.
The Apprentice Pathway has 10 Sequences from Sequence 9 (entry) to Sequence 0 (god-tier). Sequence names borrow from astrology, magecraft, and travel archetypes.
The full Sequence ladder below is drawn from the source material. The launch client has published the entry rank and the day-one advancement only; the higher Sequences and the abilities attached to them here have not been shown in the live build and are documented as source-material reference.
Sequence 9: Apprentice. The novice-mage entry rank.
Sequence 8: Trickmaster (also rendered Sleight-of-Hand Master). The stage-magic and prestidigitation tier.
Sequence 7: Astrologer. The astral-and-fate-reading tier.
Sequence 6: Record Keeper (also rendered Recorder / Annal). The catalogue-and-knowledge tier.
Sequence 5: Traveler. The mobility-and-passage tier.
Sequence 4: Arcanist. The deep-magic-formula tier.
Sequence 3: Wanderer. The world-walking-and-shortcut tier.
Sequence 2: Planeswalker (also rendered Travel Mage). The cross-plane-travel tier.
Sequence 1: Star Key. The Pathway's penultimate Sequence; near-godhood.
Sequence 0: Door. The Pathway's deity.
The launch client opens the Pathway at Sequence 9 Apprentice. The documented opening schedule places the first Sequence advancement on day one and caps potion digestion at 20 percent that day. The launch Sequence ceiling has not been published, and nothing above Sequence 9 is confirmed reachable inside the documented ten-day opening schedule.
For historical reference: the February 2026 Crimson Test capped the Apprentice at the two lowest Sequences, Sequence 9 Apprentice and Sequence 8 Trickmaster, with the Sequence 7 Astrologer ceremony reserved for later builds.
The Apprentice opens and closes gaps faster than anything else in the roster. Its own role sentence frames that as an assassin identity rather than a mage one: burst damage delivered from melee range, sustained by displacement tools that keep it stuck to a target, and paid for with the thinnest survivability of the six.
Strengths: the highest mobility at launch, the strongest traversal tools, and low downtime in solo play. Weaknesses: it folds quickly when it is caught, and it needs the player to keep tempo rather than trade hits.
The Apprentice's Acting Archetype is the curious novice: drawn to puzzles, locked doors, and stories from old wanderers. Acting checks favour:
Picking dialogue options that ask for more information ('Tell me how this works,' 'Show me the passage').
Investigating side quests through finding shortcuts: hidden doors, off-the-map routes, locksmithed alleys.
Cracking puzzle rooms in dungeons rather than fighting through them.
Carrying a key-and-lock tool in the free-equip slot and using it to interact with quest-giver props.
Avoiding direct frontal confrontation; opening fights with a tempo-grab (a feint, a blink behind cover, a distraction).
Apprentice-Pathway Beyonders work as occult investigators, archaeologists, hidden-passage scouts, and trick-magicians. They tend to organise into private societies and trade-secret rings rather than rigid hierarchies. The Pathway is rare in the source material and treated as exotic by the Seven Orthodox Churches; the Nighthawks cooperate with Apprentices but rarely include them in the standard chain of command.
The line's reach is visible in the world itself. (Ms. Forsi), the Tarot Club's Magician, as a high-Sequence Beyonder of the 门 (Door) line, and credits her with creating the 旅行尖碑 (Travelling Obelisks) that carry people between distant points across Loen. She is described as a regular at the Evildoers' Tavern. The game does not state that Forsi is an Apprentice archetype, only that she belongs to the same line.
Pick the talent to match the fight, not the character. 闪袭 for a stationary boss or a pack, 巡星 when you have to keep moving. The swap is free.
Carry an Apprentice toolkit in the free-equip slot: lockpicks, wax tablets, and a key-prop for traversal interactions.
Use the blinks defensively first. They are short-range with short cooldowns, which makes chain-blinking a survivability tool before it is a damage tool, and it is the only real answer to the Pathway's low durability.
Stack Acting via puzzle rooms. Apprentice puzzle rooms reward higher Acting than combat completions, so leaning into the puzzles is mechanically optimal.
Expect a learning curve. Pre-launch guidance rated this the most demanding of the six Pathways to control, and the kit assumes you are moving constantly.
