Overview

Karaoke is a singing activity in inZOI that allows Zois to perform songs at dedicated venues. The most prominent karaoke location is Coin Booth Karaoke in Dowon, the game's urban city inspired by modern South Korean culture. Karaoke is both a recreational activity that fulfills the Fun and Social needs and a skill-building exercise that contributes to Performance skill development. It reflects Dowon's vibrant entertainment scene and K-Pop cultural influence.

Venues

Karaoke venues are commercial locations where Zois go to sing. The primary karaoke venue in the game is Coin Booth Karaoke, located in Dowon's entertainment district. The venue features private singing rooms (noraebang-style) where Zois can perform without an audience, as well as open-stage areas for more public performances.

To visit a karaoke venue, travel to the location and interact with the building entrance. Once inside, select a singing room or an open stage to begin the activity. Karaoke venues operate during evening and nighttime hours, fitting into Dowon's nightlife scene alongside other entertainment options like bars and nightclubs.

Solo and Group Singing

Karaoke can be enjoyed alone or with company. The experience differs significantly depending on the social configuration:

Solo singing is a perfectly valid option for Zois who want to practice their vocal skills and have a good time without needing companions. The Fun need boost is solid even when singing alone, making it a reliable recreational choice during evening hours.

Group karaoke is where the activity really shines. Bringing friends to the venue transforms the experience into a social event. Zois take turns singing, cheer each other on, and share the fun. Group sessions provide a strong Social need boost alongside Fun, and the positive interactions build friendship levels between all participants.

Duets are a special two-person mode where two Zois sing together simultaneously. Duets are particularly effective for romantic partners on a date, as the shared performance creates a memorable bonding moment and provides a relationship score boost.

Performance Skill

Every karaoke session contributes experience toward the Performance skill. The Performance skill governs a Zoi's ability in singing, dancing, and other entertainment activities. As the skill level increases, the Zoi's singing quality improves audibly, with better pitch, timing, and vocal range in the karaoke animations.

Higher Performance skill levels also unlock additional song choices and performance options. A Zoi with a low Performance level might sound rough and miss notes during karaoke, while a skilled performer delivers a polished, entertaining rendition. This progression encourages repeated visits to karaoke venues as part of a Zoi's skill development routine.

Karaoke is not the only way to build Performance. Dancing, playing instruments, and other creative activities also contribute. However, karaoke is one of the more accessible options since it requires no equipment or special setup.

Cultural Context

Dowon is designed as a modern, high-energy urban district inspired by South Korean city life. Karaoke (noraebang) is a central part of Korean entertainment culture, and its inclusion in Dowon reflects this influence. The venue design, the private room layout, and the emphasis on group singing all draw from real-world noraebang traditions.
