Island Getaway DLC Guide
A comprehensive guide to the free Island Getaway DLC for inZOI, covering how to travel to Cahaya, the three islands, all nine careers ranked by salary, farming, mining, gem crafting, fishing, resort activities, tool progression, the financial system, and tips for island life.
Overview
The Island Getaway DLC is inZOI's first expansion, released on August 20, 2025 as a free download for all players. It adds Cahaya, a tropical archipelago of three islands inspired by Indonesian destinations like Bali and Lombok. The DLC introduces farming, mining, gem crafting, fishing, snorkeling, boating, a resort system, natural disasters, a financial system with loans and insurance, nine new careers, and over 180 new build mode items. This guide covers everything you need to get started on the island and make the most of what Cahaya has to offer.
Getting to Cahaya
From an Existing Save
Open the smartphone or use a computer and select "How to travel to another city"
Choose Cahaya as the destination
You must purchase a property in Cahaya before you can move there. The cheapest empty plot costs 2,000 Meow.
Once the property is purchased, your household relocates to the island
Starting a New Family
When creating a new household, select Cahaya as your starting city from the neighborhood selection screen. It appears alongside Dowon and Bliss Bay.
Important Caveats
The DLC must be separately claimed and downloaded from its Steam store page. Simply updating the base game is not enough.
Relationships with family members who do not travel with you effectively pause. Plan which Zois to bring carefully.
Cahaya functions more like a relocation than a temporary vacation. To fully enjoy the island, commit to living there.
The Three Islands
Cahaya is an archipelago of three distinct islands. See the Cahaya Main Island article for a detailed location breakdown.
Island | Purpose | Key Features |
|---|---|---|
Main Island | Residential and working life | Farmland, Central Market, Corner Store, residential lots, mining spots, fishing docks, Library, Crafting Tables |
Resort Island | Leisure and entertainment | Sri Lestari Resort, spa, pool with waterslides, arcade, bowling, billiards, villas, Miatara Temple, beach activities |
Deserted Island | Exploration and gathering | Free lodging (cardboard beds, campfire), rich gathering materials, higher quality minerals. Accessible by boat. |
Travel between islands using instant boat taxis (fast travel) or by renting a manual boat at ticket booths around the coast.
Careers Ranked by Top Salary
Cahaya offers nine careers, all rabbit hole jobs. The following table ranks them from highest to lowest top-tier salary.
Rank | Employer | Top Position | Top Salary (Meow/day) |
|---|---|---|---|
1 | Red Bone Tissue | Boss | 2,169 |
2 | Sawara Law Firm | Partner Lawyer | 2,040 |
3 | Harihari Travel Agency | Professional Guide | 1,100 |
4 | Sea Turtle Conservation | Marine Ecology Guardian | 1,000 |
5 | Jallan Network (Taxi) | Premium Taxi Driver | 950 |
6 | Napas Yoga | Chahara Philosophy Researcher | 900 |
7 | Natap Encyclopedia Association | Association Manager | 600 |
8 | Farming (Field Work) | Farmer | 120 |
9 | Mining Union | Miner | 120 |
The Red Bone Tissue criminal career offers the highest single salary in the entire game at 2,169 Meow per day at Boss level. The Sawara Law Firm is the legitimate high-earner. Farming and Mining have very low career salaries but generate most of their income through selling crops, gems, and crafted goods.
Farming
Farming is one of the main activities on the Main Island. It provides food for cooking, crops to sell at the market, and a relaxing daily routine.
Getting Started
Purchase farming tools from the Farm Store on the Main Island: a watering can and a rake at minimum
Place farming plots on your lot through Build Mode, or use the public Farmland community lot in the southwest of the Main Island
Buy seeds from the Farm Store (tomatoes, bananas, mangos, sweet potatoes, potatoes, or corn)
Plant seeds, water them daily, and wait for crops to grow over multiple in-game days
Harvest ripe crops and sell them at the Corner Store, market stalls, or Resale Store
Farming Tips
Use fertilizer to improve crop quality. Higher quality crops sell for more.
Watch for bugs that can damage crops. Inspect plants regularly.
Heavy rain (a natural disaster unique to Cahaya) can flood and damage crops. Consider natural disaster insurance.
The Farming career pays only 120 Meow per day but works 7 days a week with short morning hours, leaving the rest of the day free for actual farming work on your own plots.
Mining and Gem Crafting
Mining spots with rocky patches and shiny formations appear throughout Cahaya. Spots change color daily, indicating their yield quality.
Spot Color | Quality |
|---|---|
Ordinary | Basic rocks and common gems |
Silver | Improved yields, silver ore possible |
Gold | High-value gems and rare materials |
Copper | Copper ore and mid-tier gems |
Mixed | Random assortment of varying quality |
Tool Progression
Pickaxes determine what you can mine. Better tools yield rarer materials, following a progression similar to Minecraft.
Pickaxe Tier | How to Get |
|---|---|
Stone | Purchase from Farm Store (cheapest) |
Copper | Purchase from Farm Store |
Steel | Purchase from Farm Store (most expensive store option) |
Gold | Craft at the Crafting Table |
Gem / Diamond | Craft at the Crafting Table (highest tier) |
The Crafting Table is located at Central Park on the Main Island. Refine raw gems into polished jewels, craft better tools, or create jewelry that can be worn as accessories or sold.
A Concentrated mood improves rare gem drop rates. Mining develops the Handiwork skill.
Fishing
See the dedicated Fishing article for a full species list and mechanics breakdown. Here are the essentials for getting started on the island.
Purchase a fishing rod from the Farm Store. Higher quality rods catch rarer fish.
Fish from piers, beaches, boats, or any body of water throughout Cahaya
Different locations and times of day (daytime vs night) yield different species
Caught fish can be sold at the Resale Store, used in cooking recipes, or displayed in fish tanks at home
A Diamond fishing rod is needed to catch sharks
Fish catches are logged in the Family Collection Log
Water Activities
Swimming
Swimming is available in resort pools and the open ocean around all three islands. See the Swimming article for full mechanics.
Swimming drains energy heavily. After approximately 3 hours in water, there is a risk of drowning.
Use pool tubes and floaties to relax in water without draining energy
Higher Swimming skill levels reduce energy drain and lower the risk of dangerous encounters with sharks and jellyfish
Snorkeling and Diving
Purchase snorkeling gear from beach stands (Beginner, Diver, or Ocean Pro sets available)
Develop the Swimming skill before attempting to dive into deeper waters
Encounter sea turtles, dolphins, coral reefs, and collectible items underwater
Submerged ancient ruins and temples hold treasure for collectors
Collectibles found while snorkeling can be sold at the Resort Coin Exchange Kiosk for resort-exclusive currency
Boating
Six types of rental boats are available at ticket booths along the coast
Boats can be steered manually between all three islands
You can fish from boats and launch diving from them
Boat taxis provide instant fast travel if you prefer not to sail manually
The Resort
The Sri Lestari Resort on the Resort Island is the entertainment hub of Cahaya. Activities rotate on different days of the week.

Financial System
The v0.3.0 update introduced a financial system that affects gameplay on Cahaya and all other cities.
Feature | Details |
|---|---|
Bank Loans | ~1% daily interest. Taken automatically when purchasing property you cannot fully afford. |
Shark Loans | 5% interest. Amounts of 2,500 or 5,000 Meow. Aggressive collection on default, including forced asset seizure. |
Death Insurance | 100 Meow per 3 days. Pays out 10,000 Meow. |
Property Insurance | Variable rates based on property value. |
Natural Disaster Insurance | 1,500 Meow per event. Covers flood and storm damage. |
Budget App | Track family income and expenses through the smartphone. |
Utility Bills | Unpaid bills trigger staged penalties: water shutoff, then power cutoff. |
Natural Disasters
Cahaya has unique weather events that do not occur in Dowon or Bliss Bay.
Heavy Rain: Causes flooding, frequent lightning strikes, and prevents driving cars. Can damage crops.
Heatwaves: Increases the risk of Zoi overheating. Stay indoors or swim during heatwaves.
Dust Storms (Yellow Dust): Can damage crops and disrupt daily schedules.
Natural disaster insurance (1,500 Meow per event) is strongly recommended for any household that relies on farming income.
New Build Mode Items
The DLC adds 189 new building items with a tropical rattan aesthetic. Highlights include:
15 new roof presets with tropical designs
2 new elevators (teleportation between floors)
8 fences and 3 gates with island-appropriate styles
Swimming pool system with adjustable pool walls, ladders, floaties, and lamps
Farming plots and scarecrows for Build Mode placement
DJ booth, bowling lane, crafting bench
4 fish tanks for displaying catches

General Tips
Bring enough Meow to buy a property (minimum 2,000 for an empty plot) and farming tools (500+ Meow) before traveling to Cahaya.
Start with the Farming career (120 Meow/day) for the short hours, then spend the rest of the day farming your own plots and selling crops for additional income.
Invest in natural disaster insurance early. A single flood can destroy an entire harvest worth thousands of Meow.
Upgrade your pickaxe as soon as possible. The Steel pickaxe from the Farm Store is a good mid-game goal; the Diamond pickaxe is the endgame target.
The Deserted Island has the richest gathering materials and higher quality minerals. Visit it whenever weather permits.
Sell snorkeling collectibles at the Coin Exchange Kiosk at the resort, not at the regular market. Resort Coins buy exclusive items.
Fish at different times of day and from different locations (pier vs boat vs beach) to catch all species for the Collection Log.
The Red Bone Tissue criminal career pays the most (2,169 Meow/day at Boss) but comes with karma consequences. The Sawara Law Firm (2,040 Meow/day) is the best legitimate option.
The Miatara Temple is one of the best spots for free Karma. Offer treats to Guardian Cats regularly.
Level Swimming before attempting deep ocean snorkeling. Sharks and jellyfish can injure or kill Zois with low Swimming skill.
Over 90 new music tracks play on the island. Cahaya has a completely different audio atmosphere from the base game cities.
