Creative Studio

Initial version
The Creative Studio is a free standalone application available on Steam that lets players create and customize Zois and build properties outside the main inZOI game. It serves as both a creative sandbox and an on-ramp for new players who want to experiment with inZOI's customization tools before purchasing the full game. Everything made in Creative Studio can be uploaded to Canvas, inZOI's integrated user-generated content (UGC) sharing platform, and then downloaded into the main game.
Creative Studio is divided into two modes: the Character Studio for designing Zois and the Build Studio for constructing properties. KRAFTON originally released the Character Studio as a limited-time demo in August 2024, then relaunched the expanded Creative Studio (with Build Studio included) alongside inZOI's Early Access launch in March 2025. The app remains permanently free on Steam.
The Character Studio provides access to the same Create-a-Zoi editor found in the full game. Players can customize over 250 individual parameters across facial features, body shape, skin tone, hairstyle, clothing, accessories, nail art, and more. Every slider and option from the main game is available here, including the ability to fine-tune details like sleeve length, aging lines, and individual finger shapes.
One of the standout features is AI Texture, a generative AI tool that creates custom fabric patterns and textures for clothing. Players type a text prompt describing the pattern they want, and the system generates unique texture variations. This allows for essentially unlimited customization of Zoi wardrobes without requiring external design software. AI Texture works on shirts, pants, dresses, jackets, and other clothing items.
Finished characters are saved as Zoi Presets. A preset captures the complete character — face, body, outfit, and accessories — as a single package. Presets can be kept locally or uploaded to Canvas for others to download. Players can also save partial presets (face only or outfit only) if they want to share just one aspect of their design.
The Build Studio is a sandbox version of the game's Build Mode. Players can construct entire properties from scratch — laying foundations, placing walls, adding roofs, decorating rooms, and landscaping outdoor areas. The interface mirrors what's available in the full game, so creations transfer seamlessly.
Build Studio supports the full catalog of furniture and decorative items. Players can design anything from cozy studio apartments to sprawling mansions, then upload completed lots, individual rooms, or single furniture pieces to Canvas. When uploading a build, mannequins and staging lighting are automatically stripped so the creation looks clean in the preview.
The 3D Printer lets players create completely custom objects by uploading reference images. The system uses AI to generate a 3D model based on the image, which can then be used as a furniture piece or even turned into a wearable accessory. 3D-printed items can be saved as furniture presets and uploaded to Canvas like any other creation. This feature is available in both the standalone Creative Studio and the main game's Build Mode.
Canvas is inZOI's built-in UGC sharing platform. It functions as a gallery, workshop, and social network for creators. Canvas is accessible in three ways:
In-game — through Create-a-Zoi, Build Mode, Play Mode, and the City Editor
From the inZOI lobby — by clicking the computer screen or the Canvas button in the upper-right corner
Web browser — at canvas.playinzoi.com, which lets players browse, like, and comment on creations from a PC or phone without launching the game
All methods require a linked KRAFTON ID account, which can be created through Steam, email, Facebook, or Epic Games login.
Seven types of content can be shared on Canvas:
Zois — full character designs with face, body, and outfit
Faces — facial designs only, without body or clothing data
Outfits — clothing combinations that can be applied to any Zoi
Lots — complete properties including house structure, rooms, and all placed furniture
Rooms — individual room designs with walls, flooring, ceiling, and furnishings
Furniture — single pieces created with the 3D Printer or Custom Furniture tool
Custom Poses — player-created poses for Photo Mode or gameplay
Only creations made within the game or Creative Studio can be shared. Custom content or mods created with external tools cannot be uploaded to Canvas.
To upload a creation to Canvas, players must first save it as a preset. The upload form includes:
Title — a name for the creation
Description — optional text explaining the design
Screenshots — up to 4 photos showing the creation from different angles
Tags — up to 15 tags to help others find the creation through search
Category — which content type the creation belongs to
Credits — optional field to credit other players who contributed
Uploads are available to the community almost immediately, though new posts may take a short time to appear in search results and rankings.
When browsing Canvas (in-game or on the web), clicking Schedule Download on a creation queues it for transfer to the game. Downloads sync on the next game session, or immediately if the game is already running. There is no limit on how many items a player can download. Downloaded items appear in the relevant presets tab marked with a purple Canvas icon.
Downloading is free, but placing downloaded content in the game world still costs Meow. A downloaded lot, for example, costs the same Meow to place as if the player had built it themselves.
Canvas provides several ways to find content:
Trending — shows creations with high recent engagement
Rankings — highlights the most popular posts over specific time periods
Search — filter by category, tags, or keywords
Following — a feed of new uploads from creators the player follows
Players can like creations to save them for later and leave comments. The like system also feeds into the creator ranking algorithm.
Canvas uses a four-tier ranking system that rewards active and popular creators:
Newbie — the default rank for all new creators
Silver — reached after accumulating a threshold of likes and followers
Gold — a higher threshold indicating consistent popularity
Diamond — the top tier, reserved for the most followed and liked creators on the platform
The exact thresholds for each rank have not been publicly disclosed, and KRAFTON adjusts the ranking algorithms periodically to keep the system fair. Higher-ranked creators appear more prominently in search results and discovery feeds. There is also a separate TOP Ranking section that highlights popular individual posts based on recent engagement, giving newer creations visibility alongside established creators.
Canvas has a community reporting system. Players can report creations that violate guidelines (inappropriate content, stolen designs, misleading tags). Reported creations are temporarily hidden from rankings and discovery while under review. KRAFTON moderates reported content and can remove creations or restrict creator accounts. The ranking system is designed to provide all creators with a fair opportunity while safely managing the community.
Since launch, several content niches have emerged as particularly popular on Canvas:
Celebrity recreations — players use the detailed character editor to recreate real-world celebrities, fictional characters, and video game protagonists
Architectural builds — elaborate mansions, modern minimalist homes, and themed restaurants are among the most downloaded lots
Custom clothing lines — creators use AI Texture to design branded-looking fashion collections and share them as outfit presets
3D-printed novelty items — unusual furniture and accessories generated from reference images, from miniature statues to creative wall art
Creations made during earlier demo versions of the Character Studio (August 2024) may have minor compatibility issues in the current game. Some facial features or clothing items may render slightly differently due to asset updates between the demo and the Early Access build. KRAFTON has noted that they aim to maintain backward compatibility but cannot guarantee pixel-perfect consistency across major updates.
Presets uploaded from Creative Studio work in the full game and vice versa. There is no separate ecosystem — both apps share the same Canvas platform and the same KRAFTON ID account.
