Bakery Business

Initial version (2026-04-09)
The Bakery is one of the business types available in inZOI, introduced in the v0.5.0 update (December 2025). This update also added the Baking skill, which is the primary skill linked to bakery operations. Players can purchase a business lot, set it up with ovens, display cases, and seating, then sell baked goods to customers for Meow revenue.
It is important to note that Baking is a separate skill from Cooking. While Cooking focuses on stove-top meals and general food preparation, Baking centers on oven-based goods like breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts. A Zoi with a high Cooking skill but no Baking skill will not be able to produce quality baked goods.
To open a bakery, your Zoi needs to:
Purchase an available business lot using Meow
Select the Bakery business type from the presets
Install essential equipment: commercial ovens, display cases, countertops, and a cash register area
Add customer-facing seating for Zois who want to eat on site
Stock the display cases with baked goods produced by the owner
Hire NPC employees and set operating hours
The Baking skill directly controls which recipes are available and the quality of the finished products. As the Baking skill increases, more complex and valuable recipes unlock. Early-level recipes include basic breads and simple cookies, while higher levels unlock elaborate pastries, layered cakes, and specialty desserts.
Products are baked using the commercial ovens on the business lot and then placed in display cases for customers to purchase. The freshness and variety of displayed goods affects customer interest. Stale products or an empty display case will drive customers away.
Display cases are the primary selling mechanism in a bakery. Baked goods are placed in display cases after they come out of the oven. Customers browse the cases, select items, and pay at the counter. Keeping display cases well-stocked with a variety of fresh products is one of the most important aspects of running a successful bakery.
Different display case types may accommodate different product sizes. Larger cases can hold more items, reducing the frequency of restocking. Placing display cases near the entrance encourages customer browsing.
Bakery revenue depends on three main factors:
Product quality: Higher Baking skill produces better goods that sell for more Meow
Product variety: A wider selection of baked goods attracts more customers
Customer traffic: Location, decor, and reputation all influence how many Zois visit the bakery
Like all businesses in inZOI, bakeries participate in the business leveling system. Consistent operation, positive customer experiences, and growing revenue contribute to increasing the business rank. Higher ranks unlock additional management features and attract more customers.
NPC employees can handle various tasks in the bakery, including operating the cash register, restocking display cases, and maintaining cleanliness. The owner Zoi is the only one who can bake products (since it requires the Baking skill), so hiring staff frees the owner to focus on production while employees handle the front of house.
Level up the Baking skill before opening. Starting with better recipes means higher prices and happier customers from the beginning.
Keep the display cases full at all times. Empty cases mean missed sales and disappointed customers.
Rotate your product offerings to keep the menu fresh. Customers appreciate variety.
Position seating areas near windows or in cozy corners to encourage customers to stay longer and potentially order more.
Watch product freshness. Baked goods can spoil, so bake in smaller batches more frequently rather than large batches that go stale.
