Starsand Island has five professions. You are never locked into one. All five are available from the start and progress independently through a shared currency called Starsand Points. Each profession has a mentor NPC who teaches you through quests.
Completing any activity (harvesting crops, catching fish, crafting an item, breeding an animal, clearing a dungeon room) earns Starsand Points. You spend these in the Workpedia app on your phone to unlock new skills and abilities for any profession.
Mentor: Graminova
Grow crops, manage fields, and produce food. See the full Farming guide for details on crops, seasons, giant crops, flower hybridization, greenhouses, sprinklers, and automation.
Farming is the steadiest income source. Crops grow in about one in-game day. Late-game automation via smart robots lets you maintain production without daily manual labor. Rabbits can handle weed control.
Mentor: Delphin
Fish the ocean and coastal areas. The waters around the island contain over 100 aquatic species. Fishing has its own skill tree with upgrades for accuracy, bait types, and rare fish detection. See Animals for aquatic life details.
You can fish actively with a rod, or set up Fish Traps for passive catching while you do other things. Fish can be sold, cooked for stamina meals, or gifted to NPCs. Some rare fish are found only in specific locations or during certain weather.
Mentor: Zerine
Build items, furniture, vehicles, and structures. See the Crafting guide for full details. Tools never break, which is a deliberate design choice to eliminate tedious maintenance.
Cooking falls under crafting too. Over 50 recipes are available, and cooked meals provide stamina recovery and temporary buffs. Ingredients come from farming and fishing.
Mentor: Pastelle
Raise and breed livestock. The game has over 10 animal species with 40+ subspecies. Each animal can have up to 6 inheritable traits for selective breeding. See Animals for full details.
Unlike farming, ranching cannot be automated. Animals need daily attention. But the resource output from well-bred animals can be very profitable.
Mentor: Zephyria
Explore the Moonlit Forest, fight corrupted creatures, defeat the three epic bosses, and gather rare resources. This is the profession with the most action gameplay. The forest has 12 campsites with portals and a corruption storyline.
Defeating bosses unlocks advanced profession upgrades. The best crafting materials come from the forest's mineral veins and artifact drops.
All five professions share one currency: Starsand Points. You earn them from any productive activity and spend them in the Workpedia app to unlock skills across all professions. A fisher earns points that can be spent on farming upgrades, and vice versa.
The system rewards doing a bit of everything. Players who dabble across professions accumulate points faster than those who grind a single path.
