Content Roadmap
September 7, 2026 at 07:19 AM
Added the late-August and September 3 update entries to the delivery record

Honor of Kings: World launched on PC on April 10, 2026 as a long-term live-service project. The S0 Season (Jixia Chapter) launch content represents roughly one tenth (1/10) of the full map as designed, with additional regions, heroes, and systems scheduled to roll out over subsequent seasons. TiMi Studio Group has publicly described the game as a multi-year project. In the launch-day official Q&A posted on April 11, 2026, the team also committed to a specific season-delivery model: each future season will receive two sub-versions of content. Specific dates for future seasons had not been announced as of April 12, 2026.
The S0 Season is the game's first live-service season. Confirmed launch content includes:
11 playable Resonances (共鸣), including one S0-original hero, Leng Chun (冷春), who is not in the MOBA roster
Jixia Academy and its surrounding plains, approximately 1/10 of the full designed world
Introductory main story arc centered on the Child of the Primal Flow protagonist, structured as 27 chapters including a Prologue and an Epilogue (see Main Story and Quests)
The Talent (天赋) system for customizing Resonance movesets
The Huanling (唤灵) companion system, where players bind creatures to their bracelet
Housing via the Study Lodge (学舍) system, with visitable player homes
Multi-mode PvP: Wudao Duel (武道对决 1v1 ranked), Gushen Lunjue (孤身论决 1v1 fair fight), Xujing Jiaozhu (墟境角逐 / Void Contention 4v4), plus quick-match 1v1, 3v3, and 5v5 modes
Four-player cooperative boss encounters and dungeon content
Cross-play and cross-save between PC and mobile
Crafting, farming, and gathering systems
Traversal tools: grappling hooks (钩索), climbing, swimming, and mounts
Photo mode and social hubs for showing cosmetics
Two-tier battle pass (68 CNY Basic / 168 CNY Deluxe) and cosmetic-only monetization
The launch-day official Q&A ("师姐问答") confirmed the long-term content delivery plan. Each future season (S1 through S4) will receive two sub-versions that each add story, Resonance, region, playstyle, and cosmetic content. In effect, the delivery cadence is roughly:
Season launch (major drop)new region, new story arc, new Resonance character, new cosmetic line
Mid-season drop: expanded region content, additional Resonance, new playstyle or system feature, seasonal cosmetic refresh
No specific dates, version numbers, or season duration have been announced for S1 or later seasons. The exact S0 end date had also not been published as of April 12, 2026.
S1 (世界启程·梦演) begins on May 29, 2026, the first full live-service season after the S0 launch. The full season is documented in the S1 World Beginning Season hub; the table below summarizes the confirmed deliverables.
S1 Deliverable | Detail |
|---|---|
New region | Caiyun Basin (彩云盆地) |
New chapter | Chapter 9: Guixu Dream Performance continues the 归虚 arc from Chapter 8 |
First-half Resonances | Sun Shangxiang (Scorching Flow Strong Attack and Support), Longya (Scorching Flow Support, hammer) |
Mid-season Resonance | Fei Han, offensive mage, confirmed for July 23, 2026 and unlocked through the Battle Pass |
Second-half dungeon | Cangmang Riverboat (沧浪楼船) |
New feature | Genderswap (性转) toggle with login-reward genderswap item |
Newcomer support | Low-level gear stat buffs and end-of-season catch-up event for late joiners |
Season pattern | Two sub-versions per season (first-half opener + mid-season patch) |
TiMi Studio Group has pre-announced additional regions beyond S1; the season placements of these regions have not been published. The list as of May 27, 2026:
Region | Chinese | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Solitary Leaf Mountain | 孤叶山 | Future region associated with Li Bai content and a Martial Arts Meet event |
Yuanchu Academy | 元初学院 | Future region, no further detail confirmed |
Wasteland of Annihilation | 灭境荒原 | Future region, no further detail confirmed |
These regions are not part of S1 and should not be treated as imminent. Pre-show coverage groups them under "announced but not season-placed" content; this wiki will document them only when their season is confirmed.
Mobile launch (iOS and Android)within April 2026, specific date unannounced. Per the April 11 Q&A, mobile launch will bring full cross-save support between PC and mobile from day one.
Time-stop photography mode (时空定格摄影)teased in the launch-day Q&A as a post-launch S0 update feature, no date. This expands the existing Photo Mode.
Controller and shader-compile fixes: listed as in-progress in the launch-day Q&A. See Day One Patch for the full status list.
Open-world expansion: future regions include The Misty Marshes (云梦泽), the Great Wall / Northern Wilds region, Wolf Banner tribal territory, Dongyunluo Highland, and Dreaming Word Lakeside. These are named in worldview lore but are not playable during S0.
Continued main story arc beyond the Jixia Academy 27-chapter block
Additional Resonances on a rolling basis, drawn from the broader Honor of Kings hero library plus new HoKW-original characters in the style of Leng Chun
Overseas rollout: the first-ever overseas closed PC alpha test is in recruitment as of launch, with global release following some time after. No specific date for TW/HK/KR/JP/SEA/Western release has been announced.
Several claims about the post-launch roadmap have circulated in secondary coverage without confirmation from TiMi. Readers should treat the following as unverified until Tencent publishes a formal roadmap document:
Specific version numbers (v1.1, v1.2, v2.0) or dated version drops
A specific level cap increase schedule
Console versions for PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch
Steam or Epic Games Store storefront launches for PC
Specific seasonal cadence (monthly, quarterly) for major content drops
S1 hero names or S0 Phase 2 hero additions
Esports ranked ladder or tournament circuit announcements
TiMi has stated in public press materials that Honor of Kings: World is intended to be played for years rather than months. The S0 Season launch is framed as the beginning of an ongoing live-service project, with content updates drawn from the broader Honor of Kings universe. The confirmed two-sub-version-per-season model is the clearest single signal of the long-term content cadence. For the launch reception that is shaping post-launch priorities, see Launch Reception. For the history of what has already been delivered, see Development History.
The mobile launch window was updated on April 10, 2026 from the earlier vague 'within April 2026' phrasing to a firm April 17, 2026 date. Pre-download for the mobile client opened April 15, 2026 at 8:00 AM Beijing Time, per and the official post.
All S0 Season content launched on PC is also present on mobile at that date, with cross-save enabled so that PC players can bring their accounts to mobile without re-playing the prologue or re-grinding Resonance bonds. Tencent Cloud Gaming also continues to be a third client option.
With both endpoints live from April 17, 2026 onward, the remaining launch-window priorities the team has acknowledged in the day-one Q&A thread are:
Intel 13th- and 14th-generation CPU crash fixes on PC
Shader compile stutter optimization on PC
Controller vibration and input loss fix, with custom keybinding returning to the PC client
Mobile-specific optimization for mid-range Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Dimensity devices
Time-stop photography mode, which was teased for the S0 season without a firm date
The production team's Week One Report (first-week summary, 制作组首周汇报) published on April 17, 2026 added three firm commitments to the post-launch roadmap that had previously been phrased in broader language. These are additive to the items already listed above in the Confirmed Upcoming Content section.
Minimap (S1 Season): confirmed in development for the S1 Season. The minimap has to integrate with the world-streaming system that already handles the vertically layered cavern regions, which is the reason the feature is scheduled for a season break rather than a mid-season patch.
Keyboard and mouse custom keybinding (S1 Season): the feature was shipped in the S0 launch build but pulled the same week after a bug was discovered that interfered with combat execution inputs. Custom keybinding will return with the S1 patch.
Gamepad custom keybinding (S2 Season): flagged as taking more runway than the keyboard and mouse path. The target window is the S2 Season rather than S1.
These items are the first content-roadmap commitments from TiMi that have a named season attached rather than a generic 'post-launch' label, and they set a precedent that future roadmap items will be pinned to season boundaries rather than open-ended.
S1's second half has now delivered its full slate: the Cangmang Riverboat area (July 9), Fei Han (July 23), the China National Geographic collaboration and Chagee collaboration (July 23), the Twin Calamity Beasts Challenge (July 31, one day later than announced), and a role-system rework for matchmaking (August 6).
The next confirmed public milestone sits outside the live Chinese service: Honor of Kings: World appears at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne (August 26 to 30) with a playable current build, its first joint booth with the wider franchise lineup. See Gamescom 2026 Appearance. No S2 season has been announced as of August 6, 2026.
A developer letter published on August 11, 2026 changed the shape of the roadmap. Rather than moving to S2 on the expected cadence, the team stated that S1 would continue for a further period while a block of adjustment work is completed. No end date for the extension was given, and no start date for S2 was given.
The letter names three focus areas for the pause:
Focus area | Scope |
|---|---|
Early-experience work | The new-player flow through the opening hours |
Combat framework iteration | The combat and progression framework as a whole |
Base content polish | Mobile performance, art, and control handling |
The clearest evidence that S2 is planned but genuinely unscheduled sits inside an event reward table rather than in the letter itself. The 同心前行 event carries two reward tiers: an S1 tier redeemable now, and a second tier explicitly gated on S2 opening. A reward tier that exists in the client with no date attached is a commitment without a schedule.
Several widely repeated items are announced intent only and have not shipped. Do not read any of the following as live content: the Story Mode and Adventure Mode main-story difficulty selection, the Resonance-development and dual-Resonance combat rework, replacing the Dream Realm stamina cost with ticket entry, the Li Bai costume redesign, 姑射山 (Mount Guye) as a playable region, and the limited test server. The official region database was byte-checked during this update and 姑射山 does not appear in it.
One sibling item from the same letter did ship inside the window: matchmaking entry for the Dream Realm Extraordinary V tier opened on August 20, 2026. That single delivery does not promote the rest of the list.
Any claim of a specific S2 date, including a mid-September window, is community speculation rather than an announcement. No official source has published an S2 date.
Through August the game held a weekly no-downtime update rhythm, each running from 05:00 to 06:00 China time and covering the PC and mobile editions together. Updates landed on August 6, August 13 and August 20, 2026. The August 20 update was the only official content post inside the August 17 to August 25 window.
The weekly no-downtime cadence held through the end of August and into September. The August 27, 2026 update was a maintenance pass: it added mode descriptions to the ranked matchmaking and versus-AI entries, tuned the graphics-quality options offered on mobile hardware so the presets track device capability more closely, and fixed a batch of issues across combat, ranked play and the ranch.
The September 3, 2026 update was the larger of the two. It shipped a nine-Resonance balance pass, a set of housing refinements including a guaranteed-success floor on housing blessings, an increase to the points awarded by the Twin Calamity Beasts co-op challenge so a single run at the highest difficulty clears the weekly task, and roughly twenty bug fixes spread across achievements, societies, and the appearance compendium.
The download for the September 3 update arrived in two parts, and its size differed by client: about 28.39 MB plus 439.86 MB on the game's own launcher, 28.39 MB plus 433.97 MB on the alternate PC client, 24.89 MB plus 95.08 MB on Android, 24.88 MB plus 95.47 MB on iOS, and 27.19 MB plus 90.88 MB on HarmonyOS. Multiplayer modes went into temporary maintenance from 05:00 until roughly 08:00 China time while the update applied.
A second wave of the ongoing benefit campaign opened alongside the update, together with the Bamboo Court Appreciation (竹庭清赏) event on September 3 and its Shadow Trial leg on September 7. No date for S2 had been announced as of September 7, 2026.
