The player character in Grave Seasons carries a small set of tools that cover farming, resource gathering, and investigation. They are surfaced through a tool wheel that includes the standard farm sim toolkit alongside a Crime category for breaking-and-entering. Tools can be improved by visiting the town blacksmith.
Tool | Category | Use |
|---|---|---|
Hoe | Farm | Tills soil so it can be planted. Used during Farming. |
Watering Can | Farm | Waters planted crops. Required to keep crops alive over the in-game days. |
Axe | Farm | Chops trees for wood and clears overgrown areas of the farm. |
Pick | Farm | Breaks rocks and is the primary mining tool. See Fishing And Mining. |
Crowbar | Crime | Pries open locked doors and containers around town. Used for Investigation And Clues, and tied to the player character's escaped-convict background. |
Ashenridge's resident blacksmith, Jade, upgrades farm tools and the crowbar. The watering can, hoe, and crowbar have all been called out as upgrade targets in early coverage of the game. Working with Jade is the main path for increasing tool reach, durability, and efficiency over the course of a playthrough.
Beyond the basic wheel, the crafting system can produce additional gear and consumables. Items confirmed to be craftable include thread, flasks, and the crowbar itself. Some crafted goods are precious wares meant specifically to ward off the supernatural threat stalking the town. See Crafting And Cooking for the full crafting picture.
