Ashenridge is the town where Grave Seasons takes place. It is presented as an idyllic, isolated mountain town with some seriously unsettling vibes. The player arrives there after a treacherous escape from jail, intending to start a quiet new farming life, only to find that murders soon begin to occur.
A Living Town
Ashenridge is populated by over 40 fully scheduled characters, each going about their daily routines. Every resident has a home, a schedule, and secrets, which the player can investigate over the course of the year. The town's social fabric, including grudges and connections between residents, is part of the backdrop against which the murders unfold.
Locations
The town contains more than 70 locations, and these locations update dynamically based on the state of the player's playthrough. This means the environment reflects what has happened in a given save rather than staying static. Notable spots include the docks, where the fisherman Noa runs a store called The Big Fish, along with the homes and workplaces of the townsfolk such as the diner, bar, library, school, and shops.
A Cozy Town With A Dark Secret
The contrast between cozy small-town life and lurking horror defines Ashenridge. While the player farms, fishes, mines, and builds relationships, a supernatural serial killer is hiding among the residents. See Characters for the people who live there and The Murder Mystery for the threat at the town's heart.
