The Old Camp is the oldest and largest of the three camps in the Valley of Mines. It was built inside the ruins of an ancient fortress in the centre of the valley and controls the largest active ore mine. Alkimia Interactive has confirmed the Old Camp as one of the three joinable factions, and released a 2023 trailer titled "Welcome to the Old Camp" showing its castle, courtyard, and reworked soundtrack.
The camp is led by Gomez, who rose to power by leading a revolt against the royal guards who originally ran the Colony. Under Gomez, the Old Camp is structured as a tiered hierarchy rather than a commune.
Tier | Role |
|---|---|
Ore Barons | Senior figures who run individual mining and logistical operations on Gomez's behalf. They answer directly to him and control sub-staffs within the camp. |
Guards | Armed enforcers stationed at the gates and around the castle. Confirmed visible in the Nyras Prologue demo. |
Shadows | Scouts and reconnaissance operatives working outside the camp walls. Diego is the most publicly visible Shadow in the remake's pre-release material. |
Magical circle living inside the castle, providing spell support and legitimacy to Gomez's regime. |
The Old Camp's economy is built on shipping magical ore out through the Barrier to agents of King Rhobar II in exchange for wine, food, and other supplies. Controlling this trade is the source of Gomez's political power, and the Exchange Zone is where much of that trade is physically handled.

A Hero who joins the Old Camp proves himself to its gate commander Thorus and works through early camp tasks before being accepted. Joining unlocks paths to the Fire Circle for mages and the Guard and Shadow roles for fighters and scouts. Alkimia has publicly described roughly 30 hours of additional camp-specific content on top of the original campaign's structure.
