Temple Blessings

Added Credna's temple to the named dedications and a clearly flagged section for the unconfirmed Diadem claims
Volunteering at a temple in Dagsion earns a blessing to use in battle. Seven temples stand on the city's temple row in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, watched over by a bronze statue of the Divine Sovereign Solel, and which temple you volunteer in decides which blessing you come away with.
Nintendo describes the effects as including a temporary stat buff and halving the damage you receive. Serving raises a level at the temple, and that level widens the range of blessings you can call on in battle. Service is capped at once a week, so the range opens up gradually across a run rather than in one visit. One reported service, at the temple of Smyrnos, is playing with cats.
Coverage of the August presentation listed effects for three of the temples, read off screen rather than taken from a published table. Treat the figures below as provisional.
Temple | Level 1 | Level 2 | Level 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
Halves damage from physical attacks for one turn | Halves damage from magical attacks for one turn | Neutralizes Underworld Boon on a foe for one turn | |
Smyrnos | Hit +50 on magical attacks for one turn | Range +1 on magic for one turn | Magic +5 for one turn |
Mars | Hit +50 on physical attacks for one turn | Restores some health on defeating a foe for one turn | Strength +5 for one turn |
Each temple on the row is devoted to a god of the Dagdan Pantheon. Temples to Fortuna, Aurora and Kalla are named directly in the material published so far, and Mars and Smyrnos are named as temple deities in coverage of the presentation. The remaining dedications are unsettled ahead of launch, and the accounts that describe the row's layout do not agree on how many buildings stand on it. Dagsion covers where the row sits in the city and what else stands there. Credna's temple can now be added to the named list: Orchel is described in her own profile as serving at it, in the upper levels of the city.
One account in circulation goes further than anything published, and carries no source behind it. It describes the blessing a temple hands out as the effect of a Diadem, the Dagdan word for an individual crest, lent to the player temporarily as a reward for service. The same account says Diadems belonging to gods the Dagdan people do not recognise are read as ill omens, and that their bearers are shunned for carrying them.
Neither claim appears in Nintendo's material, and no Diadem effect has been published for this game at all, so nothing in the paragraph above is treated as fact on this page. It is recorded because it is the only account that tries to explain what a blessing is in the fiction, and because it should be checked rather than repeated once the game is out. Crests covers what is actually known about the mark system, and the pantheon page covers the gods the temples are dedicated to.
