The Guardian is an Advanced class in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. Nintendo's dedicated presentation described it in one line: Guardians are skilled with both spears and White Magic. It is the class Eshmel starts the game in, which makes it the only Advanced class a player is guaranteed to see in the opening hours.

The weapon restriction is the sharpest thing published about the class. A status screen read in pre-launch coverage shows the Guardian limited to lances and Faith magic, with everything else greyed out. Most classes at this tier carry a wider list, so the Guardian trades breadth for the combination of a reach weapon and healing on the same unit.

The Guardian is one of the eleven Advanced classes on the certification exam list shown during the presentation, so it can be trained into rather than only assigned. Several other Advanced classes are absent from that list.
As of September 2026, no class skill has been named for the Guardian, innate or mastery. No exam requirements have been shown beyond the reported Advanced-tier gate of Renown level 8 and a recommended character level of 35, both provisional single readings. As of September 2026, no base stats, growth rates or stat modifiers for it appear in any published material, and the movement value above is the only figure available.
Everything on this page comes from a class-tier screen, a status screen and one line of narration. Classes covers the tier structure, Certification Exams covers how class change works, and Magic covers the Faith and White Magic vocabulary.
It is the class Eshmel starts the game in. Faith, the one school it is allowed alongside lances, is covered on Magic, and the tier ladder it sits on is set out on Classes.
