Expanded Gaitz abilities, spells, Combat Arts and social preferences
Gaitz is a character in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, introduced in the pre-launch profile drip as an ally of Bertrand. He fights as a gladiator at the arena in Dagsion and trained in Sai, the eastern country his tastes and his fighting style both trace back to.

Two official profiles describe him, and they emphasise different halves of the same fighter. The Japanese one calls him a first-rate martial artist with both wisdom and courage, working as a gladiator at Dagsion's arena with a deep well of combat experience behind him. The English one describes a warrior trained in the eastern lands who carves a path to victory with exceptional swordsmanship. Both agree on the training and the experience, and a further line adds that he has trained rigorously since he was young.
Gladiator is also a class in this game, one of the beginner tier. As of September 2026, this wiki has not connected Gaitz to it as a starting class, or to any other class; see Gladiator for what the class does.
His introduction card names him an ally of Bertrand, which is worth flagging because his own profile text never mentions Bertrand at all. Footage puts the two together anyway: Gaitz stands beside him as the pair face off against Dietrich and Fabio inside the arena. He is also described as quick to sense the danger Dietrich presents.
Two of his lines have circulated. The first defends Bertrand's reputation: "Many people fear the White-Maned Demon's strength, and get the wrong idea about his true nature. If you ask me, there isn't a man more pleasant and interesting. But you might not understand until you fight by his side in the arena."
The second comes later in the same exchange, once he has taken the measure of an opponent: "...I see. Indeed, he is even more beautiful than they say. But more than that, he has a dangerous aura around him. It's as if his whole body is made of blades."
Gaitz can only be recruited on Dietrich's path, and only near the end of Part I. Dietrich needs Support level 3 with him and Renown 10, has to clear Bertrand's Paralogue, and has to wait until Bertrand's team is out of the tournament, which should be around Chapter 12. He is not recruitable on Cai's, Theodora's or Leda's path.
Bertrand's Paralogue, Friendly Match with Brigid's King, is handed out by Gabriel in Arena Square. On Dietrich's path it is available on 9/17 of the in-game calendar only, the one paralogue with a single-day window. The objective is to defeat four giants before Peppe's group does, and it rewards an Extra Large Bullion, 20000 gold and 150 Renown.
His character growth rates, abilities and learned Combat Arts are listed below. His starting class and the journey from Sai to Dagsion remain unrecorded here. He is recruitable on one path, as set out above.
These character growth rates exclude class modifiers.

The single-day Friendly Match with Brigid's King on 9/17 is required before Dietrich can recruit him in Chapter 12.
His voice credits sit alongside the rest of the cast on Voice Cast. The tournament his arena hosts is covered on Heroic Games, and the wider roster on List of Characters.
